Front body controller issue?

Picked up the new 2026 MY juniper premium RWD last month, only driven the car a few times and currently at 170 mileage. Had the new software update 5 days ago. Yesterday, it started showing emergency braking and park assist not available, and in service menu it showed 3 of the FSD cameras won’t initiate so I reset DAS and recalibrated the cameras. This morning all cameras were green but 15 miles into the drive FSD kept disengaging. It turns out it was due to camera self calibrating failure. There was also “adaptive headlight feature unavailable” on the warning screen along with some other VCFRONT bus codes. A few weeks ago there was also an instance where the rear dome lights were unresponsive (fixed itself overnight). Gemini said it’s likely front body controller issue. service is scheduled 2 weeks from now. I like the car but I can’t help but be super disappointed and anxious about all these issues basically on a brand new car!!! Is this a lemon? I mean…WTH Tesla?!

This is starting to look a bit like a systemic problem with March 2026 model Ys. See mine: https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaFSD/s/HGohc3qdjS Also notice someone else replying with the same issue. I know what I’m doing. I have another 2026 model Y that I bought in January that is fine. My service appointment is in 10 days. Pretty annoyed that I have to wait that long on a new car. As I’m sure you are as well.

I saw your post last night! I did some research with Gemini and chatGPT- both think it’s related to camera/harness/cable being loose or damaged by moisture. Apparently there was a service bulletin released Feb 2026 (sb-25-17-012). Not sure how I should feel about driving it, could this cause a safety issue?

Interesting. I found that service bulletin (https://driveteslacanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/SB-25-17-012_Inspect_Front_Fascia_Harness_and_Front_Fascia_Camera.pdf) but it seems to be about the front fascia (the camera below the front fender) while the one that goes out for me is the right repeater camera. Sometimes, like when I moved the car this morning, I see that camera failing completely and just showing a black rectangle. I’m pretty sure this problem causes both subtle (like having trouble finding the right curb when making a right turn) and blatant (disengagement) FSD problems. I would absolutely not use FSD in this state, and I’m not driving full stop until it’s repaired. If you look at some of my replies to my original post, I’ve had a few other problems as well, like the cellular modem randomly going AWOL for 30 minutes, and complaints about other cameras. I sort of hope there is some more general problem, like a bad bundle of wires going to a single connector or a bad computer, that would possibly explain these other issues. The other car from January has had zero of these problems. Good luck with yours. Thanks for following up.

Thanks for your post. Your service appt is earlier than mine, if you don’t mind letting me know what they find!

Will do!
