I came from a legacy 3 to the new Y. I love it and I’m so glad I did it. It’s way better to me. If you’re about handling/acceleration though, maybe get a new 3. I got the Y for comfort, space, cargo space etc. so glad I made the jump.

The only thing that I notice is the Model Y suspension is not as good as the Model 3. The M3 felt very planted as I drive that. The MY seems a little more floaty. But everything else is way better in the MY. The driving height. A little bit more room. I like the MY better than the M3 after driving it for a little while.

While I may agree that it's a bit more floaty than a Model 3, the reality is the Y suspension plants way better than any other SUV of its size. You just can't properly compare the 2 cars as weight and height have physics that will always affect how to drives. The extra weight sure plants when I take turns.

I’m 6’ and I feel so low to the ground in the M3. Is there a big height difference?

Yes, there is. I also just came from a 3 and it feels like I am falling off a cliff coming out of the Y now 🤣 I am 5’6”

Making the same change end of month for the first time. Always had sporty coupes and sedans but never a larger vehicle. Going from a 2018 boosted 3 and having that identity crisis that I'm moving past the youthful sporty car phase into "comfort" phase of life. Its uneasy, so do what I did and compromise with a performance variant heh. Ride height is higher, but factory lowered from standard so it's like a happy middle. The performance will still out accelerate even a new boosted awd, and you keep all the perks of a crossover.

Dude. The step up from a 2020 3 to a new Y Juniper is gonna blow you away. Go for it. We’ve owned several 3’s and Y’s and the Juniper is next level. 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

Go test drive it.

If you think the 3 is low and the blazer is high then you might find the y to be just right.
