Mad Max rocks. I love it. It doesn’t mess around at all haha

I find it to be better in 14.1 versus 14.2 the speed profiles are messy at the moment. But FSD is great in traffic.

I use Hurry and didn't find much difference in Mad Max.

Not in Houston, but I recently used it a lot on a recent road trip from Central Texas to Alabama, then up to Memphis across Arkansas and through East Texas back home. I find it annoyingly goes under the speed limit on some rural 2-lane Texas highways with 70 and 75mph limits. It seemed like it didn't like curves and hills with restricted visibility instead of blindly going the speed limit like a car with cruise control would do. Mad Max goes much faster on interstates with better visibility but most of the time is just keeping up with traffic.

Houstonian here! I use mostly standard mode, occasionally hurry or chill depending on need. But I live outside the loop and drive in via 59 if that helps!

Agreed. I like the control over speed from the previous versions. The neurotic lanes changes with the latest version is driving me nuts.

Hi! I drive all over the place for work and when I’m inside the loop (montrose/westheimer/midtown) it makes me a bit nervous with how abrupt traffic will change or stop. Let’s not even talk about the pot holes 😩. I live in the clear lake area where it’s pretty calm but in downtown I’m so conditioned to always be watching the traffic driving behind me and the quick lane changes people make on 45. When I cancel FSD it will ask me why and I always tell it because I’m scared 😭

Sparingly. Hurry is enough for me, even standard. That’s on my heavy traffic commute. On the open freeway I swap between standard & hurry. MadMax doesn’t seem that much different than hurry what little I have used it.

The only mode I use.

Hurry most of the time. Sometimes standard on the highway. Sometimes madmax on small streets.

Mad Max not mad enough sometimes

For Houston driving no. It’ll go like 60 in a 40 or 45.
Highway or rural, yeah absolutely.

I find mad max go about 20mph over speed limit while hurry is about 10.
If you find yourself at a steady speed with mad max try going down to hurry and see how much it drops

I use mad max all the time because the other modes are too slow for me.

All the time.
Don't worry, it's more a joke name than anything. Simply the most aggressive.

Yeah of course someone has used mad max lol, what kind of question is that?

Chill? 🤣
I pretty much only use Hurry. Occasionally Standard. I only use Chill/Sloth if I see kids around or are in a parking lot.
I’ve used Mad Max only sporadically for a few minutes at a time. Little too fast for me, but not insane.

I drove 5000 out of 5075 mi, almost exclusively in mad max in California and the west coast. Works great. Changes lanes aggressively, but fails to get back in the right lane like it should.

Im in cali, I use standard or hurry most of the time, when I notice the car speeding up and switching lanes often it's because it switched itself to mad max. Not sure why that happens but it's a noticeable difference from hurry.

MadMax is virtually the only mode I use - especially around town. It gives the most natural, human-like driving behavior in my opinion. It is confident and assertive, especially in heavy commute traffic; I love it. My wife opts for Standard or Chill, and I’ve found myself in FSD and thinking that something is wrong, only to realize it’s still in Chill after her using it.
