Optimum wheel/tire size for comfortable urban ride (including speed bumps) in a pre-2023?

I'm shopping for a used MYLR, and am reading many reports about the suspension being quite stiff, especially in models prior to 2023 when the suspension was improved for comfort. I've read that some owners have changed their wheel size to 19-inch to improve ride comfort, with some success. And I see quite a few used models with 19-inch wheels. But some of the tires still look low-profile, which makes me wonder whether tires with a taller sidewall become part of the equation. Any advice/experience with wheel and tire size on the pre-2023 MY that resulted in better ride comfort? Especially over low-speed obstacles such as speed bumps. Thanks for any advice or info.

Common knowledge is that the smaller the wheel, the taller the sidewall. Go all the way to an 18” for the best ride and mileage. You will lose the race car feel. Also, the taller sidewall protects the wheel from curb rash and breakage. 2020 MYLR here. 19” Gemini. Will consider switching to 18” when these tires wear out.
