Better deal

If keeping for 2-3 years before upgrading, would you choose between the 2: 2022 Model Y Performance w/ 70k miles (no accidents) for 27k cash - no loan 2026 Model Y AWD (non premium) new for 42k financed at 0% APR I’m debating which will depreciate less over 2 years. I wouldn’t run out of warranty on either before selling, and won’t subscribe to FSD either.

For me, definitely not the 2022 as it has HW3 and I value FSD For you, who doesn’t want FSD, I’d probably go the 2022 so there is no loan.

No loan

2026. Even if you don’t do FSD, your buyer probably will and they will want the HW 4 in your 2026 (vs HW 3).

If you’re only keeping it 2-3 years I’d go with the cheaper car. But that’s me 🤷🏼‍♂️

I only bought the car because of the re design

I also planned on keeping my MY for 2-3 years. I went through the used vs old mental gymnastics and test drove both. Ended up with a new 26 MY Premium RWD with a small loan and decided I'll just keep it as a commuter car for longer and pass it on to my daughter as her first car. The new 26 MY does run smoother than the older ones, also has ventilated seats that I needed in the brutal Houston TX summers. If there's a chance you may end up keeping the car longer, go with the new. Otherwise get used.

You are overestimating how many people actually care to pay for FSD

I would do 2026 for the HW4.
