Used 2024 Model Y: Worth it?

Appropriate-Table150 | 2026-03-10 19:28 | 1 views

Hi all, I’m currently looking at buying a used Tesla and stumbled upon a 2024 Model Y Long Range RWD on Facebook marketplace and wanted to get some opinions from people who know these cars better than I do. Here are the details I have so far: * 2024 Model Y Long Range RWD * 24,000 miles * HW4 * Seller says they would take $33,000 I haven’t seen the car in person yet and I have only exterior and software pics, so this is more of an early “is it even worth pursuing?” question. Does $33k sound like a reasonable price for a 2024 with 24k miles, or does that seem high? I’m mostly trying to figure out if this is something I should seriously consider or if I should keep looking. Also, are there any specific things I should check for when I go see it (battery health, warranty transfer, etc.)? Thanks!

If anything that price strikes me as below market, given the year and miles (you certainly won’t get anywhere close to that on Tesla’s used inventory). Obviously you want to see the car in person but I’d want to know if it has a clean carfax and what the imputed range is at a full charge (divide currently displayed miles by currently displayed percentage). Where this is a private sale I’d want a PPI, if things progress that far. And I would only consider a car on marketplace if it’s in my immediate geographic region.

The story must be solid. “don’t like it” = nope Selling it for a friend or relative = nope.

So far the story seems to be he needs a bigger car

I have a 2024 AWD with 13k miles. Carvana just offered me 34K. So probably not a bad price.

Is it better to get low mileage but older or high mileage and newer for MYP

I have 8,000 miles on my 24 AWD so it is good to know what Carvana is potentially offering because I want a performance Juniper

I looked at it, but basically almost 20K for a newer model since I still owe about 4K. I'll have to stick with my current car.
