You’d think this was covered in the owners manual or online somewhere that doesn’t require waiting on humans to provide you an answer.

I assume you must have a 2026 (Juniper). They removed it without warning, and it's absolutely horrible to have this "feature" locked on. I don't understand how people can stand it, TBH.

It's not there.

Obviously I have looked there and that is now why I'm asking others.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks.

Please turn this shit off!!!
100% of the time I need to cross two or more lanes, it’s completely fucking obnoxious and wrong. Even pretty frequently when I do expect to to correctly auto cancel, it fails.
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t like this then they added this non-disableable “feature” in an update.

You idiots do know it’s illegal to cut across multiple lanes of traffic at once right?

Can you hold the stalk down until you’ve finished?

Lmao. I had the same thought. It would likely help if everyone slowed down instead of moving so fucking fast all the time.

In which state? Another California myth is that you cannot change lanes in an intersection - but you can.

When exiting the fifth level of the SFO terminal parking lot to highway 380 west you have to cut across 7 lanes in less than 1/4 mile. I have to keep banging my turn signal to do it. Every time I've tried FSD on my Juniper, it fails to move over fast enough and I need to take over.

it’s not explicitly illegal, but it’s still bad and unsafe driving behavior as it’s extremely discouraged, risky and you CAN be cited if a popo decides to get on your butt over it.

I don’t know why we’re trying to make excuses for garbage driving behavior.

It's kind of scary, but I've found that "auto cancel" doesn't auto-cancel if you make a multiple-lane change in one motion. Don't straighten the wheel in the second lane then turn again - just straight-line it across three lanes. I don't think it's a good tradeoff.
I'm guessing that Tesla is trying to reduce the number of configurable things lately. You've got to admit, the options are extraordinary and extensive - and that makes software testing and development more complex. I think they're also preparing for an FSD-only future, where you won't have control over things like that at all.

Use FSD. Problem solved.

It's permanently on, you can't turn it *off* anymore. It's an awful feature that doesn't work right (and never will). However, it seems like a lot of people like it (they must love engaging a turn signal twice for turns at intersections with turn lanes), so I'm fine with there being the option to have it on... but the Tesla gods decided to F over everyone with a Juniper who wants the option to have them just work normally again.

Doesn't it stay on when to push it all the way down vs just one click down? I've always assumed that.

FSD auto cancels turn signals in another way.

Or leaves them on for a mile straight making everyone around you wonder wtf you’re doing.

What? The only time I have an 'auto cancel' turn signal is when I don't push all the way (only go half) otherwise it stays on until I make a HARD 90 degree turn or move it in the other direction half way... Is this not the same on yours?

Juniper & Highland turn signal stalks don't have the "halfway" stop.
They tried to write software that works for both lane changes and turns, and it works 95% for lane changes and 50% for turns (whereas the "classic" normal turn signals work 100% of the time for both). It's been an optional feature for a while. Now they don't let you disable that anymore.
