MYLR '24 - How long should I expect my tire to last if I'm an avg driver. How many miles did you get w/ yours before having to change them.

I’m not sure what “average driver” means. Plenty of maniacs out there. Anyway, my tires look “great” at 17,000 miles. MYLR ‘24.

I got about 53k miles on the rear tires. Still running the front tires at 63k miles. I'm going to swap them out really soon.

It depends greatly on how you drive. You’ll probably get a lot of miles if you mostly drive on the highway. You’ll get far fewer miles if you mostly do stop and go driving in cities.

In my area it's too many flat repairs from nails rather than tire wear. Already got one in new car less than a year and most shop will not fix it correctly because of the noise foam. Had to plug it myself and need to redo it. Worry about that and how good you are at it or finding a shop that will plug it off receipt.

Wow, that's impressive!! Which brand/model? I didn't even get that much tire life with my old Subaru Forester.

50k? Wow. that is amazing. I would've been happy to hear 30k. I have All Wheel Drive. Wonder how much shorter my tire life span will be.

I do have have all wheel drive. How much of a significant hit will it take? I'm a normal driver. I don't speed or race. Drive around speed limit.

Pirelli Scorpion. 90% highway miles

Some_Ad_3898 2026-03-09 17:56

depends on how hard you accelerate and how much stop/go and turning. I'm on the highway 90% of the time. I do have Acceleraiton Boost and punch it every now and then, but I don't drive it particularly special. I'd say average in terms of aggressiveness. It's mostly just that I'm on the highway a lot.

OEM?

yes

Nice. Mine came with the Continentals. When it's time to replace them I'll check out the Pirellis.

Just a heads up, they are very expensive. Almost 2X the cost compared to the Contis.

Stop and go in city streets will cause more wear than driving on the hwy.. The main issue is people forget to rotate their tires, stuff that is usually done when you get an oil change on their car but never realize it.
