Left or Right?

How do we feel about the wheel covers? I’m torn, I took them off on my ‘24 Model 3 and thought they looked much better. With my new ‘26 Y I’m not so sure. (I would need the lug and center caps to finish it off but still)

I didn't even notice. I was trying to swipe the picture. And then I had to read the caption too notice this was a post about rims. which means they both don't look bad at all

Proof_Sheepherder899 2026-03-08 04:28

Right. I'm not a fan of the hubcaps at all, it's obvious it's hubcaps.

JIsADev 2026-03-08 04:30

OEM wheel covers are more aerodynamic and will give you better range. I like the solid wheel look anyways

Those wheels kind of suck to be honest but anything looks better than plastic hub caps. I recommend going aftermarket

Whit3boy316 2026-03-08 05:26

I think the wheels kinda suck tbh. They are too small and the bland calipers make it worse. That being said I’m debating trying it

colokan2224 2026-03-08 06:10

Yeah lol I was thinking "uh what is there another pic or something wtf are they asking"

colokan2224 2026-03-08 06:11

Are there any reputable aftermarket rim shops for tesla model y?

I like it without covers but if you do a lot of freeway and/or long drives you will probably notice a range decrease. If mostly in town with home charging, I'd leave them off. JMO of course.

Mor_Hjordis 2026-03-08 12:48

Left. Kept them on my '26 too.

Atomic Wheels, Tsportline, EVAnnex are some popular EV brands… I personally went with EVAnnex because they are dramatically cheaper for a set of wheels

Adventurous_Ad9414 2026-03-08 13:57

Took the covers off I hate the creaking sound also

Pure-Coconut-6005 2026-03-08 14:03

Something aftermarket, but until then......definitely right.

Left until you find a better aftermarket solution. Without the cover it looks very unfinished.

Range is better with caps. I think they are some of the better looking caps out there but removing them Makes the wheel look way more sporty and attractive. I wouldn’t bother with the lug covers if doing it again, they make tire work more annoying and are just cheap plastic covers. The center cap is easy to get cheap from aftermarket sites.

Do they actually sell better looking rims for Tesla? They ALL look pretty boring or just plan ugly imo.

bobbird99 2026-03-08 17:08

I did the lug and center caps and love the look.

KiwiBleach 2026-03-08 22:55

I don’t like the wheels without aeros on the Juniper. Those 5 spokes doesn’t look great. Just my thoughts after seeing them irl.

pharmphresh 2026-03-08 23:00

Right. I also covered my brake calipers with a black covers since the stock calipers look very basic and stand out oddly with the silver color

elflacco93 2026-03-09 00:32

Right just looks goofy to me

d33170 2026-03-09 05:36

I swapped mine for the 20” Helix 2.0 wheels and couldn’t be happier.

darkknight302 2026-03-09 13:19

Hate covers, take it off!

EitherCharacter9342 2026-03-09 18:45

Left put the covers back on

stadce071012 2026-03-12 13:11

Left The Crossflow wheels are hideous without the covers.
