For those who did the vinyl tubing for the rear hatch…

I’m considering doing this to fix the interior booming noise and have some questions. I adjusted the hatch stops and did the envelope test, but it didn’t produce any noticeable results for me. \-I’ve seen varying reports on tubing size - 3/8” versus 5/16”. Is this interior or outer diameter? And which size is correct? \-How has the fix held up long term? Any issues? \-Did this result in panel gaps or rear hatch closure issues? \-Would you still recommend? Any tips? Amazon links to what worked well? Thanks all?

I adjusted using the envelope method and after the first month or so in the hot summer sun I think the seals settled in and the booming went away.

Honestly I'd wait it out. I worry about putting a little extra stress on the hinges and possibly the hatch struts.

My 2024 myp has rattles and booming noises from the trunk area. Two service center appointments were useless. The first appt claimed they adjusted the rear hatch bumper stops and eliminated the noise but the noise was still there. A second appt at a different service center was even worse lol. The tech heard the noise but said it wasnt loud enough to take a look at…. So now i need to find time to have someone drive while i cram myself back there to see wtf is causing the issue. I’ve tried adjusting the bumper stops but it doesnt help.
