Its usually the most evident when going over the bump slowly. Otherwise I dont really hear anything coz of the road + music

It’s considered a major refresh, not a new model. I’ve had one for about a year with no issues. Some folks hear clunking from the pencil braces, which can be fixed by using rubber washers on the mounts, though I’ve read some people simply remove them.
JD_352
2026-03-05 23:32
Yes, known issue on some but not all. Made a service request and they didn’t even question it. They knew to replace both front upper control arm mounts. No more clunk for me.

2026-03-05 23:34
The noise is being made by the pencil braces and this is a well known issue. Several folks have fixed it by adding rubber washers to where the braces mount to the vehicle, others simply remove them (as they were added to support the wipers).
Tesla is well aware of the issue but haven’t suggested a timeline to an official fix.

I own a 2026 MYLR Juniper with this issue. Every time I drive through uneven pavement I can hear this rattling noise in the front of the car. I have seen YouTube videos about this problem and it seems that Tesla hasn’t come up with a fix yet. I’m not going to take it get serviced unless I know they can fix it.

It's just the front left strut mount resonating through the cabin. It makes that noise because they updated the frame for the new Y and they kinda screwed up in production. Unfortunately, there is no real fix, but its safe. The update strut mounts are only intended to reduce the noise, not resolve it. You might still hear it faintly after the updated parts. It's totally safe to drive though.

Is there a part number you could provide for the new updated mounts? My service center is playing dumb like there’s no known issue

Known issue. I took my Premium AWD (April 2025 build) in for it a few weeks ago and they replaced the front upper control arm mounts and I haven’t had the noise return.
The Tesla Toolbox article on this remedy also states removing the pencil braces but the tech notes from my service visit doesn’t state they did that.
Brilliant_Oil5261

Yes. I took it in back in October and they said there is no fix currently but engineering is looking into it.
Heres 150 pages worth of forum comments talking about the issue: [https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/2026-model-y-suspension-rattle.343652/page-150](https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/2026-model-y-suspension-rattle.343652/page-150)

I have this issue and it’s bad. I’ve taken it in for service twice. The replaced the “Steering Column Shroud Lower” this last time. Rattle is still there. How do I tell them to replace the front upper control arms?

Is it a clunking noise on high frequency bad roads bumps? Cause I have that it's pretty annoying comes and goes.
JD_352

It wasn’t any particular frequency. Felt more like the severity of the bumps and was random as well.

Yes, mine has it since the first week I took delivery of it by Tesla. I've had the car for 2.5 months now, and I already took it in to a service appt. So they can address the issue. The Service advisor told me that they are aware of the issue with some new Teslas Model Y. Doesn't matter is it is FWD or RWD, as it affects both. Tesla still "doesn't know" how to fix the problem. On mine, they replaced both front struts base mounts, and told me to keep my fingers crossed that this would somehow mitigate the issue, but as soon as I drove out of the service center, I heard the noise again.
About why some people hear it, and some others don't, my theory is that many people upgrade, or come from cheap older cars, where noises like these are normal, so when they get their new Teslas, they assume the noise they hear is normal and everything is working the way it is supposed to, but no, that rattling in the front is not normal. The second theory is the sheep nature of some cultures, where they will pretend, or sacrifice themselves with the annoying noise, as long as they "look cool" in a Tesla.
Don't get me wrong, I really like my 2026 Juniper, but it is far from perfect, and I won't pretend otherwise!
Ok_Recognition_4851
2026-03-11 02:44
If you want to hear it, you'll hear it, but even if you want to fool yourself like a bunch of other people, and pretend you don't hear nothing, the noise is and will continue to be there.
Ok_Recognition_4851
2026-03-11 02:47
I'm glad to hear you are part of the normal people who can hear it. Cause there's a legion of zombies out there that swear their MYJ don't have that rattle in the front.
Ok_Recognition_4851
2026-03-11 02:50
I took mine in for that noise. And the changed the two front strut's mounts, but they know this is not a definitive solution because at least in my case, it only reduced the audible rattling by approx. 10%. And I'm super disappointed with this rattling that shouldn't be present on a brand new car.
Ok_Recognition_4851
2026-03-11 02:54
The new mounts don't fix the problem, well, they do if you try to fool yourself and easily fall for placebos, but they only mitigate the noise slightly, so as soon as you drive at night when there's less traffic noise, you'll still hear the rattling.
Ok_Recognition_4851
2026-03-11 02:56
A bunch of people have the noise and can't even tell they do because they don't know how a new car is supposed to sound, or not to in this case.
Intelligent_Rub7502
2026-03-11 03:40
Well I’ve never noticed it until recently because I listen to music while I drive and once I noticed I thought it was something moving around in the frunk. After removing everything from the frunk the rattling sound was still there.

That part number is FUCA Mount, not the upper control arm. Interesting they replaced the mount instead of the arm.
