Pre-VIN Configuration Change

Yeah you can do that without penalty. If a vin is assigned they don't let you change the spect though. It says it may affect delivery date but I did that with my current car 3 years ago and it didn't really changed.

Changed my MYP interior color as well prior to VIN and didn't affect anything. You should be ok.

Looks like it kept the same. Phew. Go from black to white, or white to black?

How long are these MYP VIN assignments taking? I made my order 2 weeks ago and nothing still. This is my first Tesla so I'm not familiar with the process.

That's what I just did also. Tbh felt a lot of pressure to get white, and it being a free upgrade also felt like money on the table. Walked around my company lot today that has fleet quantities of new model Y just to see how they've been wearing with frequent use. They were pretty discolored from people pants, supposedly easy to wipe off but what really surprised me was the creasing damage on the sides of the seats nearest to the door where people slide in and out of the car. It really showed vs on the dark interiors and I don't think that can be solved with just wipes.

If I remember right the VIN shows up like 1-1.5 week before delivery date. Personally my delivery window keeps moving forward. Ordered last week, delivery was originally Mar-Apr, then Mar 26-31, and it just updated yesterday to Mar 22-31.

My original delivery date was Mar-Apr then updated to March 17 - 31 and has been like that since. Hoping to get something more concrete so I can apply for financing and get things settled.

My order was eight weeks ago, no VIN. Delivery estimate is still end of March, but earliest date in range keeps pushing back.

I’m guessing they are trying hard to make it end of quarter for their numbers. I don’t really mind either way. I just don’t want to apply for financing until I’m more certain as the quote is only good for a certain amount of time.
