Just had car for little less then 3 months and my heart sank when I heard the loud boom . Car was parked when it happened , Driver is taking full responsibility and is at fault he said he fell asleep at the wheel and blacked out , drivers insurance has been notified . My car was taken to a Tesla collision center . Am not sure what to expect any recommendations and words of encouragement is welcomed . Such a bad experience.

Ask a service center.

GamerInfinity1996 2026-03-04 15:57

My guess is $10-$13k

Successful-Cover5433 2026-03-04 15:58

idk but he pay for that so you don't have to worry

His deductible is the cost, and we don’t have access to body shop schedules. Hope you have rental car coverage!

Service Center would be best suited to see the extent of damages, but it’s going to be pretty costly. Police report. Insurance. Let them sort it. But if I had to speculate, the rear suspension has moderate damage. The battery might be damaged…maybe. Oh, and the apparent cosmetic damages to the rear quarter. Low end: $10k maybe. If the frame or battery is damaged, it’ll be a write-off. Edit: also… play the jingle… you’ve been Honda Bumped.

20k and 6 weeks, from my experience.

This makes me realize that maybe I should pay for the car rental benefits with my insurance 🤔

Puzzleheaded-Term921 2026-03-04 16:09

Sufficient_Water_326 2026-03-04 16:18

Puzzleheaded-Term921 2026-03-04 16:26

Yes it’s recorded , I would of posted it here but I can’t post videos yet , the still images of the hit is from the sentry footage

Puzzleheaded-Term921 2026-03-04 16:28

Tell me about it . Best car I’ve driven so far .. ughhh

Verabiza891720 2026-03-04 16:29

Ah, good. I didn't see the other images. Sucks but at least your insurance rate won't increase.

Puzzleheaded-Term921 2026-03-04 17:00

Update : Just received estimates- $17,600 :-( ..

Puzzleheaded-Term921 2026-03-04 17:00

$11,700 estimated sent , second estimate $17,600

Puzzleheaded-Term921 2026-03-04 17:01

$11,700 estimates , second estimate and should be final $17,600

TriptoGardenGrove 2026-03-04 17:05

It will be more once they take the panels off and start messing with the suspension.

w1lnx 2026-03-04 17:05

That’s good… no frame nor battery involvement. Sucks a bit because there’s gonna be waiting on parts for a few weeks.

Delicious-Baker-6348 2026-03-04 17:12

Prob 15k and 3-4 weeks at collision center

Puzzleheaded-Term921 2026-03-04 17:31

Yea I was thinking the same .. unless they already opened it up which I doubt

wildsnorlax1194 2026-03-04 18:25

He’s at fault, so $0 to you. Your car will probably be in the shop for 1-2 months.

You can set it to be off at home and work. Which helps a lot with the battery drain.
