Wait for Tesla to push the update to your car.

The only thing that speeds it along is to choose Advanced in the Software settings.

How long have you been waiting? Is it a new one that you just bought or have you had it for a while? I picked mine up 4 days ago and still waiting for the update. Everything I've seen and read says it can take up to 6 weeks.

Dec. 30, picked up a Y with V13, immediately after arriving home and accessing wifi, software update to V14.

Pray to the Tesla server gods? You are not giving us much to go on. What is your current firmware version? How long have you had the car? Do you have it set to Advanced updates?

What have you tried?

Yes it's a new one, so I have to wait til FSD trial is up in order to get it? Oh Darn.

Tesla assigns each vehicle to one of many download groups. Groups include employees, Vloggers, people with advanced downloads enabled, everyone else. These groups are also subdivided by hardware on the vehicle. I.E. HW3 or HW4, model 3, model Y, Cybertruck, Robotaxi, Intel, AMD, camera type, etc. It is unknown how many different groups there really are and each update may be prioritized for certain users with certain hardware first. Your vehicle has to be on WiFi to download the update but not to get notified of an update or to apply an already downloaded update. Vehicles automatically check their assigned download group for updated software about once a day. Updates are assigned to special early adopters groups such as employees and Vloggers first. After they pass those special early adopter groups they then go to regular early adopter groups. They slowly roll most updates out to one download group at a time sometimes within days and sometimes over a multiple week timeframe. At any point, they may find bugs that stop an update from being rolled out. It generally takes about an hour to download and update a vehicle if you have a high speed WiFi connection. Your vehicle cannot be used while an update is being applied. It takes at least 2 weeks before a newly sold vehicle is even added to one of the groups. Then it takes until the group that vehicle has been added to get a download pushed to it that is a higher version number than you currently have. That entire process is often more than a month for new vehicles before they start getting updates.
