Juniper Model Y Premium - what are you guys doing with the center console front compartment? I've never seen a center console storage as deep as this!

StormTrpr66 | 2026-03-02 21:38 | 20 views

This thing is so deep I can barely reach the bottom! I did get a shallow tray that mounts so it's about 3 inches deep, it can also slide forward to expose the full compartment, but what is everyone else doing with this compartment? It's so deep that it's not really convenient to be able to easily get things in and out of it although there are a couple of things I have placed in there that I almost never use, but would like to have available in case I ever need them.

Bunch of sunglasses in their cases in the bottom. Charging cables, chapstick, gum, and extra usb drives for the dashcam in the tray.

rlap38 2026-03-02 21:45

I got a tray from Amazon to hold the everyday stuff. The bottom has the MY quick start guide, seatbelt cutter / glass breaking hammer, gloves, boo-boo med kit and 12v to 110v / USB / USB adaptor

Get something like this: [Model Y Center Console Organizer (2026) - Tesloid USA](https://tesloid.com/product/model-y-center-console-organizer-juniper/) I have this and it works very well breaking the storage space into two. The organizer can slide out of the way for you to access the bottom portion.

StormTrpr66 2026-03-02 21:52

Yeah, that's what I have. It makes the top part of the compartment useful. I'm just wondering what everyone does with the bottom. I almost have to stick my entire arm all the way in just to reach the bottom. I can't imagine this being useful for any items you might want to grab while driving.

…with pistol. 👊

FluxChiller 2026-03-02 22:19

My wife was super excited to be able to take napkins from chipotle and now stack them a foot tall by 3 stacks deep in there! Best feature of the new car apparently!

SlightAnnoyance 2026-03-02 22:39

In the bottom I keep larger and less frequently used things like baby wipes, Karen lock, game controllers, sunglasses in the case. Then about 5 feet of empty space up to the after-market sliding divider where I keep breath mints, parking key cards, etc.

MindlessFun7 2026-03-02 22:52

Gun safe

pinoystyle 2026-03-02 22:56

Most of the time a stash of 0.75l water bottles (6-7 in total) and a dust wiper

sier0038 2026-03-02 23:12

Custom 3d printed holder for gum, 2 kinds of mints, and sunglasses, with plenty of deep storage beneath it still for random ish.

MrOppositeMonth 2026-03-02 23:16

Tissue box and wet wipes at bottom, tray from amazon above it that moves backwards and forward for little things like remotes. Can easily grab a tissue while driving by moving the upper tray forward. Also keep a can of coke or two in there :)

antimagamagma 2026-03-02 23:59

Any suggestions?

MindlessFun7 2026-03-03 00:22

I have this one and like it a lot: https://a.co/d/0iE5PgMA

Jesus these are the most American replies

kittysworld 2026-03-03 00:53

I put a full size box of facial tissue there. Fits perfectly.

Balancedone_1 2026-03-03 00:57

Kleenex, wet wipes, water bottle and a flashlight

j_d_q 2026-03-03 01:04

https://a.co/d/0fjBfz5x and as another said a pistol underneath

rhia_assets 2026-03-03 02:23

Mine is a "cleaning station." Tub of hand wipes, tissues, lotion.

gyanrahi 2026-03-03 02:30

Sliding tray on the top, I keep a belt cutter, a flashlight and a window breaker steel pen. The rest is filled with random staff.

It’s my mobile junk drawer

Mysterious-Dark-11 2026-03-03 03:00

It’s my pantry

bababooey58 2026-03-03 03:07

If you have one of the ridiculous Stanley cups with the handle that doesn’t fit in any cup holder you can shove it in there and it won’t fall over

OkCockroach7825 2026-03-03 03:10

My Bible

adaminjapan 2026-03-03 03:42

I rent mine out on Airbnb.

JAK3CAL 2026-03-03 03:52

That fits in the juniper?

a-coward 2026-03-03 04:28

A front console organizer as others have mentioned. But underneath it I put in a small DIY trash can which I can access by sliding the console organizer forward.

a-coward 2026-03-03 04:46

You may be using the window breaker steel pen as a writing instrument or for self defense, but just be cognizant that it probably won't work to break Tesla glass because it's laminated.

wtfredditacct 2026-03-03 05:20

No

wtfredditacct 2026-03-03 05:22

>Karen lock Uh, what is a Karen lock?

SlightAnnoyance 2026-03-03 05:29

A plastic ring you place on the J1772 adapter when you need to charge with those to keep peope from unplugging your car. https://a.co/d/0eQarRBn

wtfredditacct 2026-03-03 05:37

Huh, didn't even know that was a thing. Is people randomly unplugging your car a thing that happens all that often?

SlightAnnoyance 2026-03-03 05:51

Used to see people post videos of it on here all the time, but I haven't in a while. It happened to me once, which for as infrequently as I use public charging is probably an unrealistically high percentage 😆 But for $5-10 its essentially solvable even if rare.

Flowers_By_Irene_69 2026-03-03 06:33

I put my cleaning stuff in there: a microfiber cloth and a little hand-vacuum.

meidohexa 2026-03-03 06:35

I got the same sliding tray. I also have the s3xy knob installed there. In the tray I keep my phone so it can be hooked to the charger and my work keys. Under the tray I keep things I don't need often like spare ice scraper, parking time chart, wildlife strip(to mark accident site for the hunter) etc, things I won't need when driving.

dw-c137 2026-03-03 07:51

I found a basket that seats about 90% into the opening when it's open and use it for sunglasses, hand sanitizer, frequent quick stuff that I also don't mind being visible through the window and then a box of disposable silverware, napkins, and my Kareoke mics below that

MundanePossibility32 2026-03-03 08:53

Horrified in non-American. I have a mini vacuum in mine....

gyanrahi 2026-03-03 11:07

Good point. Need to do some research.

_casshern_ 2026-03-03 12:07

I have a slider tray too for small items (glasses, etc.). At the bottom I just have a roll of lysol wipes. lol

XDCDrsatan 2026-03-03 12:56

I have a tray I printed and a fantec vacuum and my CC on trips

StickyRiceLover 2026-03-03 13:06

Umbrella & Kleenex (the vertical “car cupholder” ones)

Freewheeler631 2026-03-03 13:17

Game controllers.

liftingislife19 2026-03-03 16:20

Center console organizer from Amazon

too_oh_ate 2026-03-03 17:28

This is the most ridiculous answer, jfc. What is wrong with people.

CarlRoundhead 2026-03-03 19:17

*shotgun

T_Hankss 2026-03-03 19:18

I have a top drawer in it and I keep a big paper towel roll below it.

TicoTime1 2026-03-03 23:53

Fill with ice and put some drinks. Deep enough to fit your favorite bottle of rosé or sparkling wine

StormTrpr66 2026-03-04 00:00

Do you hold onto it for dear life when in FSD Mad Max mode?

Deaths_Kaos 2026-03-04 04:47

Created some 3d printed compartment trays for mine, for both the armrest and the storage by the cupholders.

macronotice 2026-03-06 19:54

Glass break hammer won’t work on the laminated glass

Medical-Frame2180 2026-03-07 13:25

Glock fits perfectly

SirAxlerod 2026-03-10 17:26

This is why I wish I could get the open “standard trim” console. It has the perfect place for a backpack.
