So I'm bringing in my Model Y soon for a windshield replacement and was wondering if they upgrade the older, windshield camera housing to the newer one that's sealed?
I don’t know, but I hope they do. For something like the front camera, I would think that they would upgrade all of them that have issues or a windshield replacement. But what do I know? I’m just a consumer.

I've read on here i think that they do now. Someone went in for a windshield change and they gave them the new setup
It's not sealed it's just more frit band.
What happened to the windshield? I just subscribed to their windshield protection. The last two cars I've had have ended up with cracked windshields.
A rock got kicked up by a truck going down the opposite direction. Immediately cracked my windshield. Yup, I also bought the windshield protection since I purchased the car. Came in handy. Didn’t have to pay for anything. Unfortunately, Tesla did not replace the housing with the updated version.

Ugh. That sucks. That's pretty much what happened with my previous two cars. I picked up my tesla last Friday so still able to subscribe through the app. I just did!
Damn! Sucks because it’s obviously a poor design choice or else they wouldn’t have improved it a few months later lol. Oh well tho, you’ll be fine! Maybe when your cam needs cleaning they will? If not, could be worse things ya know?
Tesla just changed my windshield and replaced it with the older housing, and my Model y juniper had the newer version. All the techs went home they said. So now I have to go back in so they can fix this, so annoyed.
