Ok this is my last post for a while, it’s been 1 week with the MYP and it’s only getting better!

CryptoKnightKush | 2026-03-02 12:30 | 289 views

AMA, I couldn’t be much happier with the car right now, the level 1 charger has been working really well, all the features are amazing. And I just saw a MYP beat a 800hp Lamborghini in a drag race!

Seriously….so hot. Can’t wait for my delivery! Wife is so happy I ordered the black interior. Neither of us are fans of the white.

K3jai 2026-03-02 13:02

Enjoy

cac2573 2026-03-02 13:07

Sigh, I just changed to a RWD Premium from the Performance. Maybe after unsupervised and AI5 is released I’ll order again.

CryptoKnightKush 2026-03-02 13:08

Yeah I think the white is just too loud for my taste, it’s still nice, but I like how stealthy the black is

Fiatch294986 2026-03-02 13:20

She’s beautiful I love the exterior color congratulations 🍾

CryptoKnightKush 2026-03-02 13:31

It’s so fun to drive tho, I only use FSD when I’m stuck in traffic or on the highway so far

mozman68 2026-03-02 13:43

Without saying too much, can you say where in the South you are? I haven’t seen a single MYP in my area, but not a surprise as while we do have some, Beaufort, SC isn’t exactly “Tesla Central.” 🤣

jfrost10 2026-03-02 13:56

I’m waiting on a MYP coming from a Polestar. I’m hoping I can learn the Tesla ways 😂. Based on googling it seems the things I won’t have anymore are Creep (nice when maneuvering in a tight spot) Adaptive Cruise Control with lane centering (seems Tesla recently took away lane centering to boost FSD subscriptions) Proper 360 camera top down view Although I’ll be happy with a car that actually works!

Work_In_Progress93 2026-03-02 14:39

Looks great! If you don’t mind me asking how much is your insurance. I’m looking to order a MYP soon, but I keep hearing that the insurance cost is ridiculous.

cac2573 2026-03-02 15:38

Yes, but I’m not taking any risks with FSD transfer.

reiker01 2026-03-02 16:05

how's the ride ? Is the suspension really as harsh as they say ? (compared the Premium model)

videoguy75 2026-03-02 16:39

My State Farm 6 month premium is $685 (I tried to insert a photo of the bill but don’t know how-sorry). Picked up my 2026 MPY Feb 18 and we just love our FSD - at 98% usage!

[deleted] 2026-03-02 16:44

I really think I want this exact car. My only concern (probably silly) is range. This would be a car I would road trip for work and personal from time to time. Trying to decide if I really should opt for a higher range model if I go with a Y because of that. Or is the range difference really pretty negligible on high way driving.

CryptoKnightKush 2026-03-02 17:02

I’m completely sold on the FSD, it just works! I didn’t think I would use it all that much since I’ve never used it with any other car, but having it as an option now I think it’s totally worth the $100/month. And the FSD gives you all the lane centering and everything else you would want.

CryptoKnightKush 2026-03-02 17:05

No, it’s way smoother than I was thinking, after hearing all the stiff suspension issues I was very pleased with how smooth it is

StormTrpr66 2026-03-02 17:38

Apparently Creep and Roll modes are not as efficient as Hold. I just picked up my MY Premium AWD 3 days ago and I don't have any of those modes. I probably wouldn't use them anyway since I want as much range as possible. Also, the only options under the Autopilot settings are TACC and FSD. No more Autosteer. I was surprised that it doesn't have a 360 birds eye view. Even my Rav4 Prime had this. But it has a lot of cameras and it does provide a kind of virtual birds eye view so that's OK.

StormTrpr66 2026-03-02 17:40

>My State Farm 6 month premium is $685 WTF? How?!?!?!?!?! I have State Farm and my premium is $350/month! And I'm almost 60, perfect driving record. Then again, I do live in SoCal and insurance is very expensive here.

mandabpanda 2026-03-02 17:54

I live in SoCal and my rates are similar to yours for my 2026 model y premium awd :/

CryptoKnightKush 2026-03-02 18:09

I was reading that even the 2026 long range model y still only gets between 250-300 real world miles depending on AC usage and cruising speeds. So I believe the MYP is similar to that range, it’s probably slightly less. For me I only drive around my town maybe 30-40 miles a day. And I have an ICE truck if I want to go long range or off road

[deleted] 2026-03-02 18:17

If I got a premium it would be AWD and that means I think a mileage estimate of 327. Performance is like 306 or something around that. So in the grand scheme of things, that's not that big of a deal. As I understand the Performance has the newer battery that might get slightly more mileage as they unlock some of the buffer over time. And I suppose I could always get smaller wheels. I think the wheels are probably the biggest factor in that range comparison really.

reiker01 2026-03-02 18:20

awesome :). thanks

Puzzleheaded_Break27 2026-03-02 18:20

That’s a beauty

CryptoKnightKush 2026-03-02 18:22

Yes the MYP has 21 inch wheels, and I think going down to 18 inch improves the mileage quite a bit. But for me, I love the look of the MYP way more than the Premium, so a little less miles but much better look and performance is worth the extra cost. I have yet to run out of battery power, I live being able to charge up at home each night. The level 1 charger works surprisingly well. I go from 60% to 80% overnight

StormTrpr66 2026-03-02 18:28

That's the same model I have. Insurance here is f###ing insane!!!!!!

[deleted] 2026-03-02 18:37

That would be on most days as well. We have a BMW ix so we are pretty comfortable with the EV space. And having a little less range for all the perks of the performance is really appealing. And from a cost perspective, since I would want the Quicksilver paint and likely white seats as well, you are getting the upgrades and no extra cost so it makes it a lot closer to a customized Premium AWD.

mohnjeyers5646 2026-03-02 19:35

Was it hard to take the aero covers off the wheels? I’m considering it but don’t want them to have to be balanced immediately after…

Salty-Hat-3994 2026-03-02 20:10

I'm living through you my guy

mealteem6 2026-03-02 21:28

What’s the bottom right badge?

CryptoKnightKush 2026-03-02 21:53

No they just clip on, so you have to pry them a little bit, but I managed to get them off without scratching the wheels

CryptoKnightKush 2026-03-02 21:54

It’s the Performance badge, different than the Plaid badge

NiceBench9100 2026-03-02 22:23

Just got back from a roadtrip in my MYP and we were driving 85mph most of the time, and we never achieved more than 160 miles in a single charge.

kevtke194 2026-03-02 23:00

I’m picking up my car on Saturday. I’m curious what software version came on it from the factory. Did you get FSD V13 or V14?

CryptoKnightKush 2026-03-02 23:02

It came with the v13 but they said it should update to the new software within a week or 2.

kevtke194 2026-03-02 23:06

Thanks. Yeah, I know it usually takes 4-6 weeks to get the first update. My old MY took almost 2 months. I hope that’s not the case now.

[deleted] 2026-03-02 23:33

Hmm. That's not super great. Is that from 100%?

NiceBench9100 2026-03-02 23:42

Was from 95% to a 10% buffer, was sometimes more than 10% remaining, sometimes less that 10% when pulling up to the supercharger

[deleted] 2026-03-02 23:47

Thanks for sharing!

videoguy75 2026-03-02 23:48

Picked mine up 2 weeks ago. V13. 12 hours later it updated to 14.2.2.5. MYP

kevtke194 2026-03-02 23:50

Interesting. 12 hours later is impressive. I had to wait almost 2 months after my first Tesla.

kuhnboy 2026-03-03 05:17

You can swap to smaller rims and keep it chill.

CryptoKnightKush 2026-03-04 00:28

Yeah we are around $180/ month not too bad

LogObjective2412 2026-03-06 17:58

I have a ‘23 MYP and in my experience the largest factor is highway speed. I have 18” forged rims I use in the winter with snow tires and the rims help, but so does keeping it under 65mph and using chill mode. I’ve seen consumption in the low 3’s to mid 4’s on the 21” uberturbines (watt hours per mile) with stock Michelin Pilot 4 AS tires, and in the mid/high 2’s to the low 4’s on my 18x8.5 Atomic Wheels AWZZ forged rims with Michelin Ice-X 255/50 R55 (yes they fit).
