Awesome. At higher speeds the Lamborghini surely would catch up quickly, but don’t forget it’s a 60k car vs a 350k car. So a Model S / X Plaid would be the right comparison, but they would smoke the Urus completely.

txreddit17 2026-03-02 14:14

The difference is less than the reaction time. You would have the same results if you raced two MYPs or two Urus SEs

YeezySeesGhosts 2026-03-02 15:38

Wow amazing. Would love to see Model Y premium vs this.

Lothar1 2026-03-02 16:38

I think the MYP have more HP than 510. Anyway, try again in a circuit and let’s see how it goes

ionlylandatlootlake 2026-03-02 17:19

Right, you can buy 6 MYP's (one in every color) for the price of one Urus.

cloudsofgrey 2026-03-02 17:31

I have a 26 MYP and pretty confident it really pushes well over 510, at least in initial bursts.listed at 461KW which translates to 618hp.

Yes quicker by quite a bit and top end especially

Skatrdie0 2026-03-02 18:51

I wanna see juniper performance vs old performance to see how much the improvement is

StormTrpr66 2026-03-02 19:05

Some professional reviews have clocked 0-60 in 3.9 seconds in the Model Y. That's insane for what's basically a family sedan!

Skatrdie0 2026-03-02 19:06

Which one? Pretty sure the old performance was consistently at worst 3.8 seconds?

StormTrpr66 2026-03-02 19:10

Model Y Premium AWD. [https://www.caranddriver.com/tesla/model-y](https://www.caranddriver.com/tesla/model-y) *At our test track, a Model Y Long Range AWD (now called Premium AWD) got to 60 mph in a swift 3.9 seconds.*

Skatrdie0 2026-03-02 19:11

Yeah that's probably with acceleration boost. I was wondering about 0-60 and 1/4 time between performance models not the long range

Sulya_be 2026-03-02 22:17

13min video for a drag race of a few seconds

Single-Use-Again 2026-03-03 04:34

FF to about 7 minutes to avoid the typical YouTube talk

MhVRNewbie 2026-03-03 11:57

Strange since all other measures I seen 0-62 is between 3.6 - 3.9 for MYP. This for Europe built ones though, is US built faster?

GT500R_ 2026-03-03 12:12

I’ve hit 11.8-11.9 in my 21’ Model Y Perf and just had 19” rims as the only mod.

hoppeeness 2026-03-03 13:55

The older ones were slower. But also the M3P was a diff battery which made it faster in the US than EU but same 0-60…i would assume the same for Y

MhVRNewbie 2026-03-03 13:57

I don't mean the older ones as pre juniper. I mean the new juniper MYP. The 0-62 tests on Europe ones are roughly 3.8 in avg

hoppeeness 2026-03-03 14:00

The battery output is worse in the EU which is why top end on the M3P was less…wondering if the extra weight of the Y results in slower 0-60 also. I think it’s the LG battery vs the US Panasonic.

MhVRNewbie 2026-03-03 14:06

I know this was the case for M3P but I thought it was the same output with the new MYP. But this video indicates the US ones are faster.

PizzaPoweredLife 2026-03-03 16:15

The regular AWD is listed as 515HP, so either the regular model Y has much less power or the performance one has much more.

YouKidsGetOffMyYard 2026-03-03 18:28

TLDW it was basically a tie. The Y was slower in the 1/4 mile by about 1 tenth of a second.

OkSchool619 2026-03-03 18:52

So how much do they cost? Why compare anything else..

OkSchool619 2026-03-03 18:54

Video should just be called 'how you can save 300k'

Brooks is a good guy but ig tiktok brain is a real thing

ifyym 2026-03-03 19:24

Jealousy is hilarious Edit: You all can downvote me all you want but it doesn’t change the fact that most of Reddit shit talks Youtubers because of jealousy. You go out of your way to join and talk in a sub about a niche while youtubers get paid to talk about it.

TheRuggedHamster 2026-03-04 00:24

the fact that the sub $60K model Y is even comparable to an 800HP $350K car is insane

Sir-putin 2026-03-04 02:39

Cold battery 450hp, room temp 515hp, 130f battery about 600hp. Tesla is listing the average of those

shaneucf 2026-03-04 04:44

This is the showcase of generational differences in old and new tech. The lambo is hybrid so it even has some help from newer tech.

Featherforged 2026-03-04 07:57

People bring up the higher speeds argument.. but he's hitting 116mph or so in the quarter mile... who's really taking this on a highway and going, yeah, let's run this from pure zero up to +130 mph to really settle this?? For most people that don't wanna end up jail, the 0-85mph or so settles most "my car versus your car" on the road
