Serious question here, how big or small is your mom? Also, how wide are the car seats?

kathfkon 2026-03-01 00:58

No

Stan_Halen_ 2026-03-01 00:59

I’m going to say 100% no.

NatKingSwole19 2026-03-01 00:59

Car seats, or boosters? Car seats, probably not. Boosters... it's tight but doable for going across town. I definitely wouldn't want to sit there for any length of time beyond that though.

arditus 2026-03-01 00:59

She’s 5ft 5in and 145lbs~ Not very bulky car seats.

TimeSlipperWHOOPS 2026-03-01 01:00

Would we be able to share a rowboat? Woulda rowboat support her?

Special-Cat7540 2026-03-01 01:02

My MIL is smaller and I would not put her back there.

HumanoidalManiac 2026-03-01 01:03

For long trips definitely not, to the local restaurant, maybe

silveronetwo 2026-03-01 01:04

Old mom or kids mom. I wouldn’t do that to someone 50+

knownikko 2026-03-01 01:05

Definitely not.

We fit three car seats across the back seat. If she can squeeze through she’ll probably fit.

JoelJohnstone 2026-03-01 01:07

I don't think so. The middle seat is fine by itself, but car seats spill over, so I don't think mom would be comfortable.

PtrJung 2026-03-01 01:12

No. We have done it for short trips, but my wife is petite and it’s super uncomfortable for her.

MisterBumpingston 2026-03-01 01:13

Is this a your mum joke? If not, for road trips, no, unless all three people are petite. I really wished it was wider and was disappointed when I first bought it. Camry seems to be wider with more shoulder room.

El_Jeffe24 2026-03-01 01:14

My wife will sit between a car seat and a booster seat. I wouldn't do it for a road trip, but if you're going to Chilis for a night out with the fam, it shouldn't be a problem.

I'd switch the car seats to be middle and side, especially if both are rear facing. We had this configuration forever and had many drive around in the side seat but had to buy a seatbelt extender to make the seatbelt usable behind the driver's seat as our car seat hid it. That said our car seats are pretty bulky. I'm not sure if it would have been same issue on passenger side but I assume it would.

wtfredditacct 2026-03-01 01:24

Would be quite snug. Maybe doable for a short trip, but i would say no for anything more than 15-20min

JonCohen3D 2026-03-01 01:32

The answer is you sit back there and Mom gets to sit in the front.

dellfanboy 2026-03-01 01:48

No.

Daily_eyeroll4420 2026-03-01 01:55

I’m 5’7” 145, and I’ve ridden between my kids car seats a handful of times. It’s possible, but It absolutely sucks. Maybe for short rides. Longest I did was an hour and ugh.

surf243 2026-03-01 01:59

Full size car seats, no. Slim car seats, maybe.

arditus 2026-03-01 02:01

Ok thank you! This was very helpful. Just placed an order for my birthday today 🥰

AfricanGenius- 2026-03-01 02:22

comfortably, no

Mrirrelevant- 2026-03-01 02:36

We did two slim fit 3 lx Graco seats on one side and middle. I am 6'2" and can sit on the other side just fine.

IPThereforeIAm 2026-03-01 03:10

My wife is 5-2 120lbs and isn’t comfortable between two car seats.

harda_toenail 2026-03-01 03:14

Even a small mom isn’t going to be comfortable.

Always_working_hardd 2026-03-01 03:31

The actual answer is, did she care if you fit in the back seat when you were growing up? Payback.

rambunctiousambivert 2026-03-01 03:40

thats fat, so would be tight

NoCap052020 2026-03-01 06:30

I've personally run into this issue and definitely not. We use our Prologue when needed for the entire fam and that's even a tight squeeze.

Schnitzhole 2026-03-01 07:28

Fitting Depends a lot on the car, and how small your mom and the car seats are. I would say “comfortably” is very unlikely

Mols0n1985 2026-03-01 13:27

My 8 year old complains about being between his brother who is in a booster and his 11 year old brother. So, probably not.

Hidavi 2026-03-01 13:35

Nope. I would have told you you needed an MX for that but they decided not to make those anymore.

Daily_eyeroll4420 2026-03-01 14:35

Enjoy! We just have regular car seats, so the people telling you “100% no” are just wrong. But, again, it’s not comfy at all. Possible, but not ideal. After a few times, I even can get my seat belt on without help 🤣

Mahawka 2026-03-01 23:07

No. Trust!

djmizzle2 2026-03-01 23:54

Catcher or pitcher?
