Any regrets with white seats?

I've had white seats for 8 years over 4 Teslas... No regrets. My kids were 5 & 3 when we started our Tesla journey.

I saw this very combination in person. Looked sick af. For a MYP it’s white seats for me. No question

Do they ever feel overly bright reflecting the sun, or if you walk by can you see more easily through the window tinting because they reflect so much light from inside?

I have OCD and that's never been an issue to me. On the contrary, I feel the cabin is warm and inviting and spacious as a result of white.

The dirt is there regardless at least with white seats you can see it and clean it quicker. There’s a reasons most bathrooms and kitchens are white.

Yes. You can definitely see into the car easier even with tinted windows. That being said…get them. I don’t regret a bit. Just go slightly darker on tint.

Honestly, this is true. I wipe down my seats more often with white than I ever did in other cars. Kids were 7 and 9 when I got it so the old car was gross but it just sat there.

I ordered a MYP with white seats. This will be my first Tesla. How long does it take to get a VIN assigned? It’s already been a week.

Oh interesting. Since I currently have a wide delivery window I’ve been holding off on applying for financing since the approval/quote is only good for 30 days or so. Maybe I should just apply and be ready. I would guess Tesla would do whatever is needed to deliver by end of quarter for their numbers.

I am on my 3rd Tesla all with white seats. I love the look. Easy to clean because it doesn’t hide dirt. The only think I didn’t like in my 22 Y was the white strip on the dash. I ended up covering it. But they fixed that with the Juniper.

I've seen that choice, it's the stormtrooper look. Very slick.

White seats are hope. Black seats are truth. The white seat says you can still become someone better. The black seat says you already are exactly who you are, and that is enough. Choosing white is choosing to fight the universe. Choosing black is choosing to sit with it.

No regrets at all. My MYLR has them and they still look like new. My friends can’t believe how well the seats loom often 3 years of usage.

White seat makes it less noticeable if you plan to tint your windshield. I have it tinted at 50% and it barely noticeable with a quick glance compared to my co worker who got black seat

Nope, no regrets on the white seats. I’ve even had the ceramic coating done to protect them but no issues there and I really do love the way my Tesla looks with its white seats.

Zero regrets going on 3 years. Performance Y red exterior. Great combo. It gives the car a whole different feel inside.

No other cat has stand out white seats like a Tesla. I had to get darker tint but I love the way it looks every time I walk up to my car. It’s a striking combination. I don’t mind keeping my seats clean.

Had the same issue. Ultimately though the white has you fighting on the weekly to keep fresh. You'll have more stress free fun in the black

Yeah I ordered mine way back at the end of September. Took delivery on December 23 and got the vin maybe Dec 17.

Order either one and move on with life. I was the opposite...I test drove one with white seats and hated them so it made the decision to order one with black seats a lot easier.

White seats, small baby. We’re not super Precious. Zero problems. Any mess wipes off super easy. Great to get in on a hot day and not burn. Blue jeans when new do stain a bit, so wash them well and you’re fine. Only downside so far is that ppl can see in very well. Consider tinting if it bothers you

White makes the interior brighter and spacious. Also keeps the cabin a few degrees cooler during the summer months. If you don't like it, You can always put black seat covers.

No. blue jeans do leave stains that are hard to clean. But it looks so much better. So it's worth it.

I love them. I use to be really against white but honestly it opened up the cabin a lot and felt less boxed in than when I had all black in the past.

There are very nice and easy to install seat sets on Amazon. I have black with white covers.

The white seats don’t work over time. At first everything wipes right off, dirt etc no issue. After a few years (I have a 2019) blue jean streaks won’t come off, other pants dyes etc. Tinting definitely seems to not work. My car has very illegal tint as seen by the tint meter, but visually you can see right in. It’s darker but it’s not blackout. The cabin is absolutely cooler than the car with black seats. The car with black had all sorts of white stains from girl lotions and sunscreen though, so black isn’t perfect either.

Have had white seats for 2 years now, and my girlfriend spilled green pesto directly on the seat, and a little water and paper and it came right off. No stain. Haven't done anything to keep them clean, and they're still white. I will be going with white in future cars too.

My regrets are that I didn’t get white seats when I was two teslas deep. Love white seats as they’re so easy to clean and maintain. Please note that I never wear jeans and I always have dogs!

I got the black ones I like the look better. I did some research and the white ones seem to hold up fine to dirt. However i donot like the ventilated seats they seem to break down way too fast. But that's me.

White makes the car stand out if you ask me. I love my white seats. Yeah I have to wipe them down often but I notorious for keeping my car clean anyway

If you wear jeans, white seat will be stained. Not super visible, but it’s there and you can’t get rid of jt.

Love the white seats. Makes it feel more premium. And I love entering the car either way the white seats greeting me. Little pain if Valentin it regularly for remove blue jean marks. But nothing a good cleaner can do.

I’ve had two Teslas with white seats and I’ve never really had to clean them. The most I’ve done is drag a wet wipe over them to address one of my kids’ food remnants. They hold up really well and I get compliments about them all the time.

They always said white seats are easy to clean. Until a passenger of mine wore a cheap orange dress and transferred dye that is impossible to clean.

I have white seats… bought my MYP new and immediately had the entire vehicle ceramic’d inside and out. Never had a single issue with them. Still look brand new.

I suggest signing up for an overnight test drive and request white seats. I had a loaner and they were just too bright for me. I thought I may like it and like the looks in pics but in person they are just too stark white for me. Wish they had a light grey option.

Are you religious with cleaning your car? Will you *NOT* care about clothing dye from transferring and slightly discoloring over time? If yes to both get white. If no to either or both get black. I really wanted the white seats. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos showing cleaning them and how regular use still can discolor them. Honest assessment of myself was I would not be consistent enough with regular cleaning to mitigate (and tolerate) the discoloration.

Model Y Juniper with white seat: in my experience, do not get white seats. 3 months into ownership and the seats are permanently dyed. Before I bought the car, I did plenty of research and most people say white seats are actually easier to clean. Either they’re wrong or I am the unluckiest Tesla driver here. I have tried wiping them with baby wipes, 80% alcohol wipes, orange degreaser, warm soapy water, a bunch of others product from Amazon and the perforated seats remain dyed.

This is what kept me from getting them. Also I have had light colored seats in a previous car and they required weekly maintenance.

I ended up with white seats and I've never liked them (got the car used, it was otherwise exactly what I wanted, so I said fuck it). .Now they're turning blue from my jeans. Not a fan.

I live where it gets pretty hot and have white seats. It is a daily driver and have kids in it often. I never have had a problem with keeping them clean and love them. My friend has the M3P with black seats. The seats will set his wife's legs on fire if they forget to precondition.

I like how the white seats look but ultimately chose black. I figured if I ever decide I want to try white seats I can just buy a set of white seat covers for under $500.

White isn’t really about the seats. It’s about the signal. It reflects light, intention, and a certain optimism. It says you want the inside of your life to feel open, visible, maybe even a little aspirational. Black, on the other hand, absorbs. It doesn’t ask for attention. I have white seats for about 1-2 months now. For reference, I’m working professional and even casually I don’t wear much jeans anymore. Mostly chino or athletic wear. I also have a one year old that i have a Cybex rambler for who eats in the back. No issues at all with the wipe - as others noted once I see something I while it off quickly with water and a napkin. The black actually has a tendency to look grosser - it displays grease stains and friction stains (someone’s shoe brushing against it) way more frequently and prominently.

No i think it's all ventilated but I could be wrong they don't seem to be lasting.

White is great so far the only thing I recommend is to double wash any new blue jeans you get. That’s the only thing I had a hard time getting out

Had white seats in our last MYP and they were great, keep a spray bottle handy with Simple Green diluted in it and use it on the seats when cleaning. Best cleaner for the white seats IMO, I still use it on our black seats when I detail the car.

Even with a kid the white seats are great. Easy to clean and don’t stain easy and we’re not a very “keep everything clean” oriented family either. It gets really hot here in the summer and the white interior stays way cooler. Plus the white seats look really unique as hardly any other car has them. We had one friend in a cheap pink dress that transferred some color to the seat (and puked on it 🙄) but 30 seconds of hard scrubbing the next day with a paper towel and dab of dawn and it came out easy

Yep, just have a pack of baby wipes in the car. But this is honestly nothing. Nothing new as I’ve had leather seats and I’ve done that for years.

No regrets. Best decision. Had a M3 with black seats. Bought a new MY with white seats. Love my white seats. There are all kinds of products out there to protect them and clean them. I found a few that have helped me clean any stains and protect the seats (ceramic coating) making them easier to clean. Minimal/barely noticeable jeans stain on passenger side (wife wears jeans often; I don’t).

Blue denim leaves a pale residue over a few months, especially on the side bolsters - where you slide out of the driver seat. I haven’t found a way to clean it yet

The 2022 M3 is black with white interior and so far so good. I really love the contrast. I made white terry cloth covers for the back seat’s seatbelts, so there won’t be any problem with the black seat belt leaving black marks. For the Juniper, stealth grey, I chose black interior only because the ventilated seats have holes. If the seats get dirty and the dirt ends up in the holes - suffice it to say I do not want to imagine trying to get dirt out of a zillion holes.
