That's crazy good! Highway speeds?

Upuser 2026-02-27 23:35

Yeah had it on chill FSD, so didn’t go faster than 65mph.

What's the comparison for you there, same drive, without?

Upuser 2026-02-28 00:16

Usually going there to surf so I haven’t done the drive without, but I feel like it would be pretty comparable.

I'm getting 235Wh/mi in the winter in GA on new tires. Casual commuting mostly to be fair, minimal highway these days. So I'd kinda hope it's not comparable. I know that sounds terse and I truly don't mean it that way. I'm a data nerd by trade and truly curious. I'd love to get a rack and throw my boards up there when we go to Cocoa to surf. But I am concerned it'll be too much impact. I can feel the drag on our Sienna with them so the EV must feel it too, we the driver just don't. Same with towing a uhaul, I love towing with my Y, but it definitely activates less range, noticeably.

Have you tried putting the long board inside? Curious because I was able to do it in a 23 model Y. But the headrest are a bit wider in this one along with the bigger screen. Not sure if it would fit.

Sea spray is not good 🚗, do u dose it off with 🪣 💦quickly?

Upuser 2026-02-28 04:12

Most what is on the car is road salt, can’t really avoid it with how much snow we have been getting

Upuser 2026-02-28 04:13

Can’t fit with a passenger but I think I could pass the long board through and across the passenger front seat.

Salamander-Distinct 2026-02-28 07:40

Yeah, I think that’s doable. I was able to put it in a 23 model Y but concerned how the wider seat and wider screen would do with my board. There are some days I just wanna throw it inside instead of strapping it to the roof.

For reference, with two sea kayaks on the roof, on highway (110km/h) I get about 22kWh/100km - one is 54cm wide and the other 48, both 515cm long. Normally I get 18/100km on highway, and a total average of 13 - exactly as stated by Tesla. MY RWD 2023
