Potholes since update v14.2.2.5

No-Abbreviations4075 | 2026-02-27 01:03 | 19 views

I feel like my Y is handling potholes so much better with FSD. Before it seemed like it was intentionally finding them on the road. It even briefly swerved into the on coming lane today(it made sure it was clear first) to avoid a big one. am I going crazy or has anyone else noticed this?

With this update avoidance has been dramatically improved. Not only does it maneuver around potholes, it puts me on the edge of deep manhole covers. It also slightly moves to edge of large holes rather than a dramatic juke. I'm pretty pleased with performance but I still keep a keen eye out and take over when needed.

"I know how the car thinks and am sure it checked first". The insanity of ppl on this sub

Geeze, I wish I could say the same!

Feels like that some days lol

Mine tagged a big one. I was expecting a flat, but got lucky.

It literally hesitated to make the decision. There was no one behind me or in front of me. Common sense and a few brain cells will tell you that. Not to mention the hundred or more times the car has avoided collisions caused by other drivers, and navigated around hazardous conditions. You obviously haven't used FSD or don't have the brain capacity to understand how it works. Get a life, or at least leave the Tesla sub if you hate how the car works.

Here in my city in Texas I haven't even seen any potholes recently. When do see them, the city paves them within a day or two of them being reported. That said, I will be needing to drive across Louisiana soon - it will be a good test.

Bahhh I need to move to a city without potholes

What car you in?

too_oh_ate 2026-02-27 21:34

jfc, the car is doing hundreds of computations per second to drive on its own. It doesn't have time to consider, hesitate, and then decide on what to do. It does this so much faster than we could notice. This only shows how good and fast it is, but also how little you understand how it works. Classic fanboy who understands nothing yet has all the confidence.

Good to hear. Haven't tried fsd with this update, but i agree it was hitting every pothole before.

I have a 2023 with the older processor and am wondering if the lack of pothole avoidance is related to that?
