Our Y updated as soon as we connected to our home WiFi. It's part of the setup process.

Stop telling people this because it isn't true. It is complete luck, you experienced a coincidence.

A Tesla associate told me. This doesn't mean it is true, of course. That's where I got the info.

Cool, and now that it has been corrected and it is found to be untrue, it is probably best to take it out of your book of knowledge.

I don’t think they did, I picked up my Model Y on Monday and it came with V14

If you JUST picked it then you will likely have to wait at least a week or so, there is nothing you can really do from the car. The tesla servers decide when each car gets its updates. They definitely don't all get them at the same time and new cars usually take at least a week to get added to the system before they get their first updates.

That must have been coincidence. The update release schedule for each car is decided by Tesla and each car is unique. Your car won't download a new update UNTIL it gets connected to wifi but connecting to wifi does not impact what updates are available to it. The car checks the servers to see if they have released a update for it over it's mobile connection.

Do we need to teach you how to use Reddit? Search the sub, this is asked a few times a week by people who don’t know how to research (like you).

That's great, still doesn't make it true. Some have it on pick up, some don't, it just depends on where the car is in line. Sometimes it lines up when you're about to pick it up, sometimes it doesn't.

Using a single post as proof is epic, for sure not a coincidence! It is a standard software rollout procedure. Good luck out there...

Wasting people's time driving to service centers and causing busy service centers to have even more cars driving in them so they can connect to WiFi isn't being helpful. That is what is weird.

My app said the update was available but it wouldn't download. I called my service center and they did something to start it. Just make sure you have good wifi and are plugged in when you call them.
