One of the reasons why I went with the 3. Less heavy, less tire wear.

skark_burmer 2026-02-24 23:03

My driving style causes my Y to eat tires like snacks. Yum yum yum!

No-Chapter1389 2026-02-24 23:21

I just changed my M3 21 tires last month, 43k miles.

nagelk87 2026-02-24 23:22

Great car if you don't have kids

Deep_Presentation725 2026-02-24 23:24

Good point. Either way the 3 and Y are both amazing vehicles.

nagelk87 2026-02-24 23:28

Yep, owned both, each have their strengths and weaknesses

StormTrpr66 2026-02-24 23:40

Looks like you're having fun!! What app is that screenshot from? Is that the native Tesla app? I'm asking because I haven't received mine yet but I'm a bit OCD about those numbers and want to make sure I know where to find them. My appointment changed and I'm getting it Friday instead of Saturday.

I mostly use chill mode and FSD in my Y. Hope to get decent miles out of my tires. My 3 had 92k miles and was on it's thrid set. I drove that car much more aggressive than I do my Y.

StormTrpr66 2026-02-25 00:08

Perfect, thanks!

Or dogs...or don't need to haul PA systems and musical instruments......

TheBowerbird 2026-02-25 00:44

3.96 miles per kwh. That's really quite great! What is the primary type of driving you do?

nagelk87 2026-02-25 01:07

Insane mode, combo of city/highway driving. Been nice in the Florida winter cracking the windows so no HVAC!

bgross42 2026-02-25 01:07

252 watts/mile over 5000 miles in a MYP? You have outstanding discipline! At that rate your tires will last many mile though fewer months. Have fun!

Leader_of_Indecision 2026-02-25 01:09

I am at 340 watts/mile over 1400 miles in the NE...im enjoying the giddyup.

Electronic_Table_620 2026-02-25 01:30

No one regrets buying the MYP it’s always the ones that should’ve gotten it instead.

Agile-Sock9206 2026-02-25 01:41

Definitely Feel you on this one 🤣 the quick response is too good not to rip it!! Enjoy the Car 🔥🔥

Original-Definition2 2026-02-25 02:08

I use chill mode looks like tire will go 25k. I've seen people claim 45k My hunch is very hot places like Arizona wear Tesla tires faster

Many-Relief-2235 2026-02-25 02:18

Live in AZ had a 22 Model Y with 46K miles on my tires and tread depth was still 3”. 20 inch rims

d70 2026-02-25 03:17

You re damn right. Those tires are gonna last much more than a year.

lvgsxr1 2026-02-25 03:47

I live in Las Vegas, I'm glad to hear we can get decent miles in our heat if we drive conservative. My new Y came with Pereli tires. I like the look. I just hope their quality is what I remember that brand being many years ago.

ManicMarket 2026-02-25 03:57

I’ve never run down my tires as fast as people say. Now this is my first Y coming from a model 3. But on my 3, I’d get 40k on a set of tires and often have enough tread left to make you question if you could push it a little further. But I have to deal with winters and never chance having tires with low tread on snow or ice.

p3n9uins 2026-02-25 06:18

I was going to say that’s awesome efficiency and saintly driving!

M1ckj1m 2026-02-25 08:48

Indeed my MYLR is about same after 9.5k miles. I thought I was doing well.👍🏻

Sure_Analysis3438 2026-02-25 10:15

I have my Juniper since October last year, and I have also already 15k 😱😱

DasArtmab 2026-02-25 12:11

I have a MY 21. 4 or 5 sets, 100k miles

Ill-Professional2914 2026-02-25 12:43

Try michelin defender 2. I has replaced 2 sets of tires and I barely got 10k miles out of both. The third set is michelin defender 2, I am already at 15k miles on it and they still have 50% tread left. Great tires.

nagelk87 2026-02-25 14:49

I was about 228 wh/mi lifetime in my model 3 SR+ so definitely happy with the efficiency so far on this. Every day is an exercise in restraint ☺️

ItsJustAnotherVoice 2026-02-25 15:01

aftermarket wheels with a square setup. Your wallet will be a little better if you can get a more common wheel size

VinshinTee 2026-02-25 19:41

This goes for an odd debate. Basically purchasing a performance just to have the power but never using it. I love cars and speed but I would never get a performance because I know id complain about my range and getting tires so often lol. Im happy with my LR

Glum_Yesterday_3808 2026-02-25 23:58

A los 13.000millas cambie las traseras de mi MYP

AlexW_21 2026-02-27 03:54

I did lol

Slight-Cat-4624 2026-02-28 02:34

Just about the same August and I’m at 10500
