Yoke owners, how’s it been so far?

I had my steering wheel replaced just three months after getting my Tesla last Aug ‘22 and had never looked back since. I usually grab the 9 and 3 o’clock position in the normal, round steering wheel so there’s very little learning curve for me. Full turns and reversing got a bit tricky in the first couple hours but became second-nature afterwards. If I have one gripe about them - it’s that the heating function isn’t as hot as the original round steering wheel, maybe about 20% less. Otherwise, i’m very happy. What’s your yoke story?

There's no reason to have a yoke. It only reduces the surface area of the wheel for no reason other than Aesthetics which I could care less about.

Is this what comes on the standard models? You get half a steering wheel?

No this weirdo just wanted to look cooler and copy the more expensive cars so he installed it himself even tho the s and x have a yoke standard because they come with months of FSD and there’s an actual display there. On the Y it’s just a more dangerous 3rd party option

Gotta cut corners somewhere

It's not a solution to any problem. In fact it unnecessarily adds a couple.

I am interested in yoke because I am interested in adding instrument cluster as well so that will make the display unobstructed.

I had a loaner X with a yoke and absolutely fucking hated it. Any time you have to turn the wheel beyond about 100° it's just stupid. Parking lots are annoying af with a yoke. It works in racing, but it's shit for the street. Combine that with stalkless and blinker buttons on the wheel face and I'm flabbergasted they haven't been sued over the problems it causes and potential to cause accidents.
