>With white seats. Is that ok? Am I going to regret that?
reports are a mixed group of people saying they are so easy to clean and others begging for a way to get stains like jeans out of it. I went with black personally.

You will not regret it.
You can put Gyeon's ceramic seat coater on it if you want some extra protection.
It's likely the Thursday date will stick.
No idea on the FPL charger, but it sounds like a good deal?
You can always shop around for tint, but make sure its' ceramic. Most of the big brands have good products, but I think 3M Crystalline is the least desirable and most expensive of the lot. You can save $$ by going for a slightly lower tier of ceramic (like LLumar Formula One over their more expensive Strators), but in general tint will make your car more efficient and more pleasant to be in. $1K sounds like it would include the windshield + roof. You could also make it cheaper by just getting a cover for the roof rather than tinting it.

I didn’t even put any ceramic protection on my white seats, had my model Y for about 9 month with a 5 year old in the back seats with no problem :)

That's one of the great things about synthetic leather! Super durable and easy to clean.

>With white seats. Is that ok? Am I going to regret that?
I would worry more about the ventilation holes in the seats. Had an Infiniti with the same ventilation holes, but no active air. The Tesla holes are slightly larger. Been lucky not to have/had spill anything in either car, but there's always a 1st time.
>FPL charger instead of having my own installed?
Premium Juniper comes with a charger that works off 120v and 240v. I recommended getting a 240v plug installed. It's cheaper and just leave it plugged in. It maxes out at about 7.5kw. That's more than enough for overnight charging.
Yes, it's expensive since the electricty it pulls is no joke. Do the math of the Superchargers in your area. In mine, it's price competitive to charging at home. In fact it's cheaper at SC than at home during the peak electricty rates. In general as long as the car comes with a 240v charger then a 240v plug is a what I would recommend for EV owners with homes in my area. At apartments, SuperCharger (or whatever is the cheapest DC chargering) off hours.

White seats aren’t a problem. I look at it this way: if they get dirty, it prompts me to clean them…and I think about how absolutely filthy black car seats would be. Why? Because the dark seats hide the dirt, so people probably just ignore it.
The scheduled delivery date is pretty accurate. If it needs to slip for any reason, they’ll let you know in advance.
As far as charging, it depends. Mine came with the mobile and the wall connector. Works great. Ultimately, it’s up to you to settle on some charge solution that works for you. Just remember your A-B-Cs: Always Be Charging. Yes, you can set a schedule. But it’s still going to need power to keep certain things awake or active (depending on your preferences).
Not sure what “tiny” you’re talking about. Tint? PPF? Although, I can say, things are expensive. I’ve found that the cost of everything is about 10-20x more expensive than comparable items from my youth.

Here at 5000ft. (Albuquerque), our Summer sun is intense, so adding tint is a must- but we did Ceramic on the windshield, and regular on the side windows…for under $500😬. We were a Ford family forever (Mustangs, Explorers and an Edge)…bought our first Tesla in ‘23 (also a Y), then we got a 3, and lastly an X- bye bye Ford…you’re really going to enjoy Yours, Congrats 🫡

I just picked up the same car. The white seats are awesome. Soap + water will work to clean. Enjoy the vehicle. If they don’t immediately give you the .99% financing keep texting them in the Tesla app and you will get it. I ordered a Tesla charger and will have it installed, but you can also plug in dryer outlet for a few miles per hour. Have fun, I am!

It’s a great car. You’ll love it.
Don’t forget to use FSD as much as you can while you still have the free trial and see if you want to subscribe. For me it’s a game changer, and totally worth it.

I think the issue with the Juniper seats is staining on the inside of the holes. The surface can easily stay clean but if you spill something dark it probably will forever be stained on the inside of the holes.

Florida Model Y Performance owner here.
The FPL deal is great if you are a daily high milage driver that currently does not already have a home installed EVSE ("charger") and better if you have more than one EV.
I chose not to do it, as I already had an EVSE, and I am a low milage driver.
If you choose to have FPL do the install, you are signing up for a service that has a subscription commitment. Leave early, you have to pay them off.
If you are a low milage driver, buy a used EVSE online and have the local electric contractor run your wires. You will end up saving over time.
As to tint: ALWAYS the local shop. Tesla will outsource that work, so you are paying extra for their thumbprint charge.
I formerly owned a 2017 Bolt EV. Nice car, great value, dependable. The Tesla blows it away.
Enjoy the learning curve!

I traded a 2023 Honda Civic for my 2026 Model Y FWIW
I bought the Honda for a dedicated commuter in addition to the pickup I already had. I hated that car. Road noise was terrible, and the 2.0 paired with a CVT made it very anemic.
The Tesla is super quiet, has instant torque and great acceleration, instant heat in the winter, and excellent software with OTA updates. I think you will be very happy with it coming from Honda.
As others mentioned the Model Y comes with a Mobile Connector. It includes both a standard 120V and a NEMA 14-50 240V adapter.
You can have a local shop do the window tint. Having it done through Tesla is insanely expensive. Any reputable shop is going to be familiar with Teslas.

I've owned an Accord, Civic, CRV, and MDX. Moving to Tesla is like upgrading from any car. My 2006 Civic was lights years ahead of my 2002 Civic. The biggest difference for me on the Tesla is one pedal driving which took a week to get used to. Vehicle touchscreens have been a thing for over a decade so it was easy to get used to a bigger more responsive screen in the Y.
Agree that white looks better. Everyone online seems to think it is easy to maintain. I didn't want to regret it so I chose black interior. Keep $1000 in my wallet.
I chose to move my pickup date one day later. They told me the vehicle is scheduled to arrive same day. I don't want to drive one hour there and another hour back and then be told vehicle is not ready. Car might not be on truck. Inspections might find a fault. Better safe than sorry.
Don't know what an FPL charger is. I used the mobile connector and charged slowly at 120v for the first couple weeks. I have a 90 miles roundtrip commute. I wasn't able to charge up my daily usage but made it up on the weekend. I'd say if your commute is ~60 miles or so per day, you won't need to install anything at all. I eventually did install a hardwired wall connector after I got a second EV.
The people that I know IRL, no one installs tint on their Model Y. I think one person has a roof shade. I don't like possible rattling noises and I like my $1000 in my bank account. I don't install tint and haven't needed it in 2 years living in sunny California. Yes, it gets hot. I simply set cabin preconditioning and the vehicle is cool or warm when I get to it 5 min later.

I’ve had my silver model y launch edition with 20” wheels in silver since I picked it up in Cincinnati at the end of March 2025. Have the white interior and absolutely love it! Have been using fsd 87% of the time and it’s just gotten better and better. So worth it! Was a Honda person, then went to Toyota and then BMW for years. Have had so many cars and I can tell you this is the best car by far!!!! Love it

Or maybe think hard about the $99 fsd subscription first if OP is remotely interested in paying that, otherwise just don’t try as it’s harder to not subscribe once you know waht fsd can do.

I live in Phoenix and have 56% ceramic tint on the windshield. Huge difference!
I drive straight into the sun on the way to work, and with out tint I could feel the sun and the AC having to work harder. Now? I don't feel any solar radiation at all and the AC can be on a much lower setting.

It’s harder to clean because of the perforations, once you get something in there it’s very hard to get out. However the non perforated sections clean up fine like the old seats.

I live in Atlanta and specifically bought the white interior because of how hot it gets. My buddy had the exact same car, year, everything except his interior was black and would consistently be 20°f hotter than mine. Then I got ceramic tints and its like 25° cooler, definitely worth it if you're in a hot area.
I'm one year in and the seats are still white. Yes they do get dirty faster than the black seats because of the contrast. But they wipe down easily and look way better than the black interior. Plus the added motivation of keeping your car spotless, makes for a nice anesthetic.

I pick mine up this coming Saturday. I went back and forth between white and black interior. That was actually the most difficult part of my buying process. I thought white looked classier but I know myself and there's no way I would clean them often enough so I ultimately went with black.
Also, keep in mind you can always get seat covers if you want to try a different color. I've been looking around to see what's available and there are full sets available for under $500. I might try them at some point.
As for tints, when going through the ordering process in the app, one of the add-on options was window tints. They send you to a 3rd party and for me, in SoCal, the two front windows was $225. The back windows already have privacy glass which are tinted. I also chose not to do the windshield for a couple of reasons. Where I live, it's technically not legal to put any tint on the windshield, but on my last car I did. It worked fine and was almost completely transparent but my issue was that I was afraid to clean it because I didn't want any scratches on it. So on the Tesla I've decided to leave it alone so I don't have to worry about that when cleaning it.
Other than that, like you, this is my first EV. I'm a little bit worried about range compared to my previous cars which could go as much as 500 miles on a tank of gas but I will charge at home and in SoCal there are superchargers everywhere you look so if I find myself in a bind, I'll just have the car drive me to one and hopefully be in and out in 15 minutes.

Gratz on the new car, I’m really only here to give my opinion on the FPL charger. If you’re referring to their EVolution program I can’t recommend it enough. Just get the adapter and use their charger. I literally pay $30 to charge my two teslas for the month. Before with my Tesla wall charger my electric bill was $500 lmao. I still have it installed in case I need to charge during peak hours where the FPL one isn’t free.

2026-02-24 19:46
I should add you can charge with the FPL during on peak hours but it is not “free” and insanely expensive. If you charge off peak your total for charging is just the $30-35 a month for the program.

Go with black, no worries if you get stains, 1k cheaper(my reason why I kept black), get the charger install at your home, it is much cheaper in the long run and convenient. Search around for TINT, I did mine from a guy on offer up for 99$ bucks. But mine was just the front 2 driver and passenger windows.

Hard balance... It's a matter of priorities.
If someone is getting the free trial anyway, I'd think using it as much as possible would be advisable. If it is truly useful, then a subscription is a decision that they should make (or a priority they can set in their budgeting).
OP - I wouldn't hesitate to use it just because you might like it! 🤨😂

Congratulations! I bought a 23MY last October. I've always had Accords and my H-RV. We still have my Honda because of the reliability and great gas milage but I can't go back to driving an ICE vehicle. I LOOOVVEE my Y. Mine has black seats but since they're so delicate and I wanted white (I didn't have the option used), I got Nappa leather white covers with SRS stitching. Now I keep a pack of leather cleaner in the back seat and wipe up whenever I wash it. I subscribe to FSD because its part of the experience and so much less stressful for me. As far as FPL-I had to Google it, haha. We had the level 2 installed and now we own it. Who knows when they'll increase the subscription price. Either way, you'll have a blast. 🤩
Oh, 2 recommendations. Depending on where you live, get deer whistles and also a radar detector.

Life long Honda driver. Bought an Audi Q3 on a whim a couple years ago and had nothing but problems with it. Was looking at new Passports but decided to trade the Audi in last week for a new Y. Absolutely love it so far. Getting the home charger installed next week, definitely a must-have.

FPL charged is a 10 year contract. If you are planning to keep an electric car and not moving before 10 years it is good (but be careful to charge it only in the night or weekends) otherwise just charge it normally with the 240v. I drive around 1600 miles a month and usually is around $100-$120 max)

What other car does 0-60 in 3.3 for this price? I realize the OP didn't buy a MYP but damn, I can't find anything even close to the price that can do what the MYP can.
