Annoyed With Common Tire Shops

Just had new tires installed this afternoon. Used a regional tire shop (rhymes with Mess Squab) that was nearby and convenient for my schedule, but wasn't at the Tesla Service Center, which is about 110 mi away. Won't be doing that again. Instead, in 30,000 miles, I'll have the Service Center take care of it. Why? Because they damaged two of the rims. Lost a valve cap. Cross-threaded valve cap. They had the audacity to say, "Oh, it was missing a cap when you came in." No, no it wasn't. They're there in the pre-work photos. So, I've some touch-up paint on order for the rims and some new valve caps. Good news is that they didn't cross-thread any of the lug nuts. When I got home, I still broke the torque then retorqued them properly. So, I'm just venting.

Les Schwab tire center is the best tire shop in the PNW. Sounds like you got a bad employee. I highly recommend discount tire if you have one in the area

They gave you a newbie. Very uncommon experience for Les Schwab (by the way, there’s no rule that you can’t state the shop name)

I’ve had great experiences with Discount Tire

I was going to say the same, this is highly employee dependent, and some people just aren’t detailed oriented. Discount tire/America’s tire has never let me down though

I just got some Hankook Evo AS from Les. They even price matched Discount Tire! No free beef, though...

I am a fan of Costco.

Overpaying at the service center for new tires will cost more than fixing your rims and new valve covers.

Costco is my go-to. The warranty they offer beats everybody
