Should I trade in for a 22+ model Y

So title says it all. Couple guys at work has one and have peaked my interest. My wife drives 22 vw atlas and we’re looking at possible trading in. We’re maybe looking at a 2022 model y with <30k miles. Buying only certified from Tesla. Tell me why or why not to. We have charging stations around. The leasing company for my townhome already cleared I can run a cord over sodewalk to charge. And wife has free charging at work. Long trips worry me. We occasionally take trips upwards of 6hrs. And we elect the atlas over my Tacoma for comfort ability. On top of maintenance on VW can get pricey even with me doing a lot of the maintenance, even then it can be very technical. I’ve read something recently that maintenance cost on teslas are rated the lowest over a 10 year period . Sell me on it

Six hour long trip shouldn’t be an issue. One thing about Tesla is there is supercharges everywhere so that’s six hour long trip might be let’s say maybe 7 to 8 hours but that’s about it.

No opinion on the upgrade as I just bought mine and haven't gotten it but if you are financing look at a new one. At 0% apr my payments only went up a few dollars when I went from a 2023 to new.

I've got a '24 MY. Put 52k miles on it already. many \~3hr road trips. range greatly outstretches my bladder capacity. plenty of superchargers so very little issue there. The only concern on the '22 MY is the suspension is much stiffer than the new model y. If you like a firm sporty ride, you'll probably be okay with it. If I was in the market for a used EV, I would totally consider the one you're looking at with the mental note to consider swapping in the new model Y struts into this '22 (out of spec renew has a video on this strut swap). Oh, I forgot....I'm addicted to FSD 14...it is sooo good. if you care about FSD, you want a newer Model y that is HW4. I know my '24 MY is HW4, I'm not sure the start date/model year for HW4.

Only reason I’m not, but the depreciation dip on Tesla seems to hit like a ton of bricks at first. Went through that with my VW. Not a fan of buying brand new any more unless of course I have tons of disposable income
