Wheel crease…

Cherryxhugzz | 2026-02-23 18:03 | 5 views

Hey guys, would you be annoyed by a wheel crease for brand new Y? I thought this was just dust/dirt on pick up but it’s actually a crease… small eye sore. Would Tesla replace this as a manufacturer defect? Thank you in advance.

Make them replace it

FatherZero 2026-02-23 18:07

That means your shit got that girth, be happy and be proud!

It’s the designed breaking point for the airbag. If you look on the passenger dashboard you’ll likely see a crease there too.

Interstellar4010 2026-02-23 18:09

so many teslas have the dick vein

Cherryxhugzz 2026-02-23 18:11

No crease on the passenger side.

Yes, I agree

Roy878 2026-02-23 18:14

It’s under warranty, use the app and request repair.

WarningWonderful5264 2026-02-23 18:15

Mine has that too. Are you going to be honking like crazy? When the car is a few months old it would be forgotten about. It’s not a big deal. As long as the air bag works.

Valaj369 2026-02-23 18:15

You're kidding right?

Valaj369 2026-02-23 18:16

Every car with an airbag in the steering wheel has it. It was even more noticeable in my BMWs. Depending on the shape of the airbag cover, it may or may not be noticeable. Not as noticeable in my Mercs.

Roy878 2026-02-23 18:19

Nope, all they can say is that that’s the way they come.

JonPorked 2026-02-23 18:20

They’ve been like that for years, it’s how they’re designed.

Cherryxhugzz 2026-02-23 18:22

I just got rid of my 4 series bmw, didn’t have this cosmetic issue.

Far-Curve-7497 2026-02-23 18:22

No, this is a QC issue, either all cars have it or none do.

Cherryxhugzz 2026-02-23 18:23

Ohh ok, so all teslas have this crease?

Cherryxhugzz 2026-02-23 18:23

Sorry my ocd is killing me…

JonPorked 2026-02-23 18:25

Yes they all have dick veins

Shygar 2026-02-23 18:25

Pretty much, I have 3 and all 3 have it, might get lucky and not see it but it's there in all of them.

Express_Set275 2026-02-23 18:28

You made a mistake in buying a Tesla then my friend.

Cherryxhugzz 2026-02-23 18:32

LoL, nah I still love the car so much!

Cherryxhugzz 2026-02-23 18:44

Thank you for your response, I feel better about it lol

Shygar 2026-02-23 18:45

I personally just view it as the airbag should come out easily if I need it.

icy1007 2026-02-23 19:06

There is a seam on the passenger side dash for the airbag.

icy1007 2026-02-23 19:06

Yes

icy1007 2026-02-23 19:06

Yes it did. You just didn’t notice it

Vtecman 2026-02-23 19:12

Some more noticeable than others but generally all of them with airbags should have some sort of crease as a thinner release point.

Cherryxhugzz 2026-02-23 19:16

No it didn’t.

icy1007 2026-02-23 19:19

All cars with steering wheel airbags have this…

Material-Tax944 2026-02-23 19:22

What about asking the question directly to Tesla Service Dept via your App and joining a picture?

Cherryxhugzz 2026-02-23 19:23

I just did, they are reviewing it. Appointment next week.

l0cknessmonsta 2026-02-23 19:44

I have the same crease.

rworne 2026-02-23 20:51

I don't know about *all* of them, but my Juniper has this exact shape on it too. I've seen similar on other cars, it's a weak point for the airbags to burst through.

TechJ2025 2026-02-23 21:26

I think most have that.

Valaj369 2026-02-23 21:51

I had three BMWs. A G01 X3, G20 330i and G20 M340i. All three had it. It was most visible in the 330i though. Worse than in your photo. Like someone else mentioned, in some cars, even of the same model, it'll be more prominent. Why? No idea. But that is how it is.

Lonely_Ordinary_7811 2026-02-24 02:54

They all have it with that steering wheel, even the S and X
