Trade in 2023 Y ?

Bradskoam | 2026-02-22 14:49 | 4 views

So I bought my model Y in February 2023, has hardware 3. I test drove a 2026Y over the weekend and the difference between hardware four and three is night and day. My current wire is fully paid off, but would rather not buy a new Y as I’d like to hold out for at least a year or more until hardware five becomes available. Does it make sense to trade in my 2023 for late model 2023 with hardware four just to have the highway four driving experience until the new hardware or even an XLY comes out. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have FSD as an included package?

I would just wait for 5.

What’s the trade-in value of your current car?

I just paid monthly for FSD $99

Traded in my 2023 with HW3. Worth it!

This is a tough question and there is no right answer. That is unless you have a vehicle where maintenance and repair costs are getting high. You are driving a fully paid off vehicle. You have eaten the major portion of depreciation. You don’t mention how many miles are on the car. Is it still under warranty? Is it in good condition with no maintenance issues? If so, your per mile costs are low. I have a paid off September 2023 Model Y AWD with “Comfort Suspension” as it was called and hardware 4. I pay monthly FSD when I need it for long distance driving. I love the car and its capabilities. If I were in the market for a used one I would consider this configuration. I will upgrade to a new Model Y when the next hardware version arrives. If your current vehicle meets your needs, is still under warranty, has low/zero repair costs, low insurance, low property tax (like Virginia) costs, I might wait. Having said that I have the Tesla itch continually to upgrade to the Juniper. I’m resisting but it’s hard.

Yeah , no repair issues , low mileage. Still under warranty. Appreciate your thorough response.
