Sounds like you hit the "vent" button in the app somehow. It will roll down all the windows a couple inches. I use this on hot days sometimes to turn the AC way up and crack the windows while I'm walking out from the grocery store.

Yeah I've done this a couple of times, also opened the frunk by mistake with the drop down panel in the android version of the app

Same here, only it was the rear hatch. I solved this problem by removing a shortcut for the rear hatch on the home page of the app, which I apparently accidentally touched.

Yeah once I figured out the issue I turned off the drop down window. A little inconvenient but better than random openings

100% sure you didn’t hit the vent option?…yeaaaa that’s a lie. You believe you didn’t but you did

There's exactly as much evidence they did as they didn't.

So you either did hit the vent button yourself, or you’ve allowed one of 300+ third-party apps access and it was remotely triggered.

Best you can do is reach out to support and talk to them about it.
Here, on one end of the spectrum, you'll find people who hate Tesla for one reason or another and will agree with anything negative about Tesla or maybe even electric cars in general. On the other end, you'll get people who will insist Tesla never has any software issues and you did something wrong and there's nothing to see here.
In either case, it's a waste of time.

I had this happen after an update.

My 2023 MY did the same thing the first few months i have the car. It didn’t have all windows vented (open 2 inches). Just the front window on the passenger side. The problem suddenly disappear after a few months.

I think the evidence that the vent function was activated leans more into the "evidence they did" camp. Are there scenarios where it happened without them or someone with access hitting it? Sure. But it would be weird they ran into a bug that none of the millions of other Tesla owners have not experienced.

Forget all this venting posts. That’s not it. In fact it is a Tesla feature to prevent breaking a frozen/stuck window when opening the door. From the manual:
> "In cold temperatures, the windows stop slightly below the vehicle trim when fully raised to prevent freezing and make it easier to open the doors."

Yes. Similar case I updated the vehicle and after the update I noticed the wi does down.

That I noticed since the beginning but 2 inches down doesn’t sound right.

I missed that but 2 inches is indeed too much.

I've had this happen two/three times before except it was always 1 window rolled all the way down after supposedly having locked after walking away. As others have said, in your case it sounds like you may have accidentally hit the Vent button in the app

How do you roll up windows?
