Software on 23 Model Y LR

AdministrationFun712 | 2026-02-22 01:51 | 3 views

I just got my 23 Model Y LR 3 weeks ago today. So far it's been a great experience, outside of dealing with cold weather .. So I was looking into the whole software thing. On the screen in the car it says 2023.32.6. Does that sound about right? I just wondered if that is considered "up to date". I appreciate the input. Thanks

2026.2.3 that's what I see on mine. Make sure it is connected to a stable WiFi and do a soft reset for just in case: press two scroll wheels and break until the screen shows logo

Thanks.  Since I'm new to the car and such, I want to make sure it's up to date. My home wifi has an extender , so the signal is strong. I'll have to give it a try maybe . I wasn't sure if that had any effect on the car, or navigation or both.  Still a lot to learn!!

Up to date is whatever you have now. Updates go out in batches according to VINs. They don't go out to all owners all at once in case the software is glitchy, they don't want the whole fleet to be down.

False. 2023 software is definitely old there were a lot of public releases since then

Yes it’s too old. Just connect to WiFi

My guess is that before they never bothered to update the software since. It is weird but I can't think of any reason other than that. You could connect to Wi-Fi, and you should be able to get the latest version available for your VIN number. It might not be the latest version out there in the market because the software version is not released for all VINs at the same time. It is released in batches and so some get it early while some do not. Either way, you should have an update since 2023 version for sure is outdated.

I have it connected to WiFi in the driveway since I bought it.

What I meant to say was up to date for him is what he has on the car

JonCohen3D 2026-02-22 04:46

That doesn't really mean anything, though.

Exactly. It's a non question and we only provide non answers.

23 MY LR I got on the first. Since I’ve gotten it I had a few updates already and I’m on 2025.45.9.1 I believe right now

It can take some time before a new update is pushed to your car, even if your current version is old. They push updates in cycles. Sometimes you are first in line, sometimes last. However, your software is really old, and if I were you, I would try contacting Tesla via the app, and ask if they can push an update. Your car might be stuck due to a bug or whatever, since your software dates back to 2023.

Update.. I asked Tesla via the app... They said that the software is not the latest.. it should be 2025.38.9.6.. so.. I guess I have to wait for it or do they push it through?
