2026 Model Y Creaking/Clicking Sounds

whadzinaname | 2026-02-22 00:06 | 6 views

I am in the Philly area and getting creaking sounds from the rear when I accelerate/decelerate very slowly in low speeds. Additionally when rear passengers enter and exit the vehicle, there is creaking/clicking noise coming from above both the rear wheels. When I first noticed it, I attributed it to the very cold weather, but I am now thinking if this is an issue. Anyone see this before? Normal or requires a SC visit?

You need to retorque the axle nut. There are some videos on YouTube on how to do it.

It’s a 2026 with a warranty. Create. A. Service. Request. Folks, this cannot be the first stop…especially with a brand new vehicle.

Why are you telling OP to start fixing his brand new car, that’s why they have a warranty.

I didn't realize it's 2026. I misread it as 2020. My mistake. Yeah they should definitely go to SC.

Could be as simple as the hub caps. Mine were squeaky, noticed them I the confines of drive-throughs.

Thanks all! Created a service ticket and it came back immediately with a $220 estimate to diagnose. Anyhow am able to easily reproduce the issue. The appointment is potentially 15 days away, hopefully I can continue to drive…

If they end up not fixing the issue and still charge you, ask them to waive it. You'll likely end up not having to pay for something that wasn't fixed.

It’s totaled!

$220 for a warranty diagnosis? I don't think I've seen that with any new car I've ever owned.
