Climate Stuck On

wehttamsteven | 2026-02-21 15:10 | 2 views

Help! My climate is stuck on active, no matter what I do. I have turned it off, verified no Camp Mode/Dog Mode/Keep On is enabled. Powered off the car, did a software reset, and no matter what the climate will not stop running. Even when the car was completely powered off (via the safety menu), the climate did not stop running. I am at a loss of what to do. Next service appointment availability is in 10 days.meanwhile, climate just keeps draining my battery! 2023 Model Y Performance

Does it actually say active on the screen and on when you open the menu or do you just hear noise? I ask that because the car basically makes some pump circulating sounds constantly when it's awake and that is for cooling the computers and battery temperature maintenance.

try holding two buttons on the wheel till the system restarts. I think "power off" just turns off the screen. Then if that doesn't work, turn on low power mode and see what happens.

Climate is 100% off but OP doesn’t understand how EVs work.

No. The car climate is active, it has been 75 degrees in my car for the past 25 hours. I know how EVs work, I’ve owned 5 of them. Thanks for your help

Maybe you could reset something in the service menu but otherwise yeah you're just going to have to open a service ticket. The only other idea is you have some third-party app connected to your Tesla account and it's turning it back on each time. Maybe some sort of screwed up schedule that is trying to precondition all the time.

Low power mode did stop the climate! Thanks for the suggestion.

I actually went into the safety menu and physically powered off the car.

so low power mode turns off the following feature. so one of these is the possibly the issue. * Sentry Mode * Keep Accessory Power On * Actually Smart Summon (ASS) Standby Mode * Keep Climate On and Camp  * Cabin Overheat Protection * Preconditioning

So when you turn off the low power mode does the heater start again?

wehttamsteven 2026-02-21 17:30

I just turned low power mode off, and so far climate has not come back on

This happened to me. Exact same symptoms. The octovalve actuator was broken and unable to turn. Didn’t throw a service code. The batteries wouldn’t cool down so the cooling system was full blast but not able to do anything.
