Tesla will tell you it’s within spec we’ve been dealing with this for 4+ years

These-Delay6072 2026-02-19 16:37

At least for now, after 8 months I do not have these issues. Neither is my friend that bought the same car (MYJ 26, AWD)...

nintenden64 2026-02-19 16:40

Sorry, my juniper doesn’t have the noise/suspension issue mentioned in the link. Good luck though.

whadzinaname 2026-02-19 16:41

Got my Model Y Juniper in November. Started noticing the rattle after few months. Opened a service ticket, they replaced the front control arms and issue is resolved.

Turbulent-Abroad7841 2026-02-19 16:46

Should've changed it to pre juniper

snowace56 2026-02-19 16:50

I do not have this issue.

FlimsyRaise1433 2026-02-19 16:51

The same happened to me and they fixed the control arms, but I think the sound is coming back now This is what they wrote in service notes “The issue was traced to the front upper control arm mounts. We replaced both the left and right front upper control arm mounts and performed an alignment check to ensure proper setup.”

The juniper has a suspension issue too

Brilliant_Oil5261 2026-02-19 16:54

Yea the control arm fix doesn't do anything

Brilliant_Oil5261 2026-02-19 16:55

In case anyone is curious, here's 139 pages of users talking about the issue: [https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/2026-model-y-suspension-rattle.343652/page-139](https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/2026-model-y-suspension-rattle.343652/page-139) I've had it since the first week I bought it. Also, another post awhile ago about this has the sound in the video: [https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaSupport/comments/1m6dd3d/any\_juniper\_owners\_have\_a\_suspension\_rattle\_like/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=mweb3x&utm\_name=post\_embed&utm\_term=1](https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaSupport/comments/1m6dd3d/any_juniper_owners_have_a_suspension_rattle_like/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=post_embed&utm_term=1)

oliphant_branch 2026-02-19 17:06

Ah, so then no one else does either. Problem solved!

elatllat 2026-02-19 17:18

> I don’t have social media  Anything further you have to say is tainted by that counterfactual statement.

snowace56 2026-02-19 17:18

Some do. Most dont. To make a change petition that a whopping 6 people have signed shows this is better handled with your service center.

oliphant_branch 2026-02-19 17:19

It was just created, bozo. 139 pages of posts on the TMC forum would suggest many people have the issue [https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/2026-model-y-suspension-rattle.343652/page-139](https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/2026-model-y-suspension-rattle.343652/page-139)

[deleted] 2026-02-19 17:30

Those who say they don't have the issue on their Juniper, you probably do have it.

[deleted] 2026-02-19 17:32

Pretty sure most people have this issue on their Juniper. Some just don't notice it or think it's normal suspensions noises. I've asked a buddy and he said he doesn't have it. I test drove his and it definitely has it.

[deleted] 2026-02-19 17:38

Definitely not rare. And yes, Juniper suspension is way better than prior Y, but the issue is prevalent enough that the Tesla techs have a name for it. They also have a new part number for control arm mounts which doesn't fix the issue. So yes, Tesla knows of the issue. They're just too focused on cybercabs, robots and kicking the HW3 can down the road to fix issues plaguing their customers.

EricDArneson 2026-02-19 17:44

Is this the weird clunking noise I hear in the front?

MhVRNewbie 2026-02-19 18:05

I have not heard of this. Issue from specific factory?

Dense_Aioli_342 2026-02-19 18:18

Nothing ever happen with the older MYs suspension issues. Doubt anything will happen now. I was just charged $4000 for my front suspension. Car was squealing with every turn and even just shaking the car it would squeal. Turns out to be my Ball joints and some compliance suspension bar or something. Damn it was expensive…

Ok-Lengthiness7171 2026-02-19 18:56

What is new with tesla shoddy quality control? They also have massive issues with premature control arms failing in the older model 3 and Y models.

Cool_Lingonberry6551 2026-02-19 19:10

That’s the hubcaps. It’s really annoying

jackiebrown1978a 2026-02-19 19:15

Same. The only noise mime makes is a squeak when closing the rear driver side door. That seems related to the window. Now I'm wondering if I should get that fixed. Normally I wouldn't but people here seem determined to get the most out of their warranty

EricDArneson 2026-02-19 19:16

Hubcaps really? it sounds like it’s coming from the frunk/strut

Cool_Lingonberry6551 2026-02-19 19:17

Honestly it could be. I had a similar sounding issue and I found someone on reddit saying if you put felt padding behind the hubcap it would stop. It worked for me.

Whit3boy316 2026-02-19 19:24

Most likely. I had a clunk over small bumps and had my control mounts replaced

_casshern_ 2026-02-19 19:51

I don’t have Reddit so I will downvote you! /s

looknowtalklater 2026-02-19 21:14

I thought the suspension issue was pre-Juniper, and replacement mitigates the issue. But apparently this is a 5+ year old problem that they haven’t addressed?

gun16 2026-02-19 22:01

Mine rattles on the front drivers side on take off/ low speed and unrelated my drivers seat also makes noise. I really should book it in as it did it from delivery. (Got mine in August) Shame that I have the old warranty as well comparative to the new one.

Fantastic_Plate_3921 2026-02-19 22:24

This should be changed to address crap suspension in any Tesla Y that isn’t a Juniper.

vypergts 2026-02-19 22:56

I thought people were retrofitting the Juniper suspension onto older models because it was so much better? Is it worse? For the record, my first gen 2018 M3 also had the control arms replaced so this isn’t really a new issue.

Abyssgaming123 2026-02-19 23:15

No, not all seem to develop it. At least not yet. I would believe that they all have the defect and may develop it eventually, but I have several that I have access to on a daily basis and only one has the issue.

SUPER-NIINTENDO 2026-02-19 23:50

Ah, the old “sign this petition that does nothing but makes people feel good about themselves “.

robhw 2026-02-19 23:53

Same

AlexW_21 2026-02-20 00:00

Make a petition for it 😂

Draygoon2818 2026-02-20 01:40

I’ve had mine since April last year, and I’ve never heard anything. Going on 21,000 miles. I like the suspension.

Cykamor 2026-02-20 02:03

Yes. Wife and I have owned 3 different model y’s pre- juniper. Each one has had to have the control arms and lateral links replaced, and my current 24 needs them again. All failed between 5 and 15 thousand miles.

Cykamor 2026-02-20 02:05

What’s the name the techs have for it?

johnyeros 2026-02-20 02:26

Let's fix 2020-2023 too 😜😂😭

mongolian_horsecock 2026-02-20 03:18

The suspension is so good. It really sold me on the car

epradox 2026-02-20 03:37

It is mine has the same issue and I have no hubcaps on the car. It’s believed to be the front upper control arm mounts but doesn’t seem replacing them is a guaranteed fix? Not 100% sure

MisterBumpingston 2026-02-20 03:47

No, this issue is specifically for Juniper owners. Retrofitting Juniper coils and dampers to legacy Model Y doesn’t bring with it this issue. Seems to be related to the front chassis or mounts.

FlimsyRaise1433 2026-02-20 03:48

This was my issue, you can hear the creaking sound in the video [https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModelY/s/rXNsaBkpO0](https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModelY/s/rXNsaBkpO0)

dpnerd 2026-02-20 04:16

I can say that what I have is my first and last Tesla. The suspension is the worst and on top of it the control arms problem that keeps coming up which always gets a Royal treatment (sarcastic) at the service. Can’t fight the battle anymore :(

Always_working_hardd 2026-02-20 04:25

Do you have to pay to sign the petition?

Due_Quiet_2180 2026-02-20 10:26

Same

Fireefury 2026-02-20 11:48

The suspension definitely isn’t “good” I don’t have the issue but the suspension sways like a drunken toddler (body roll) and isn’t exactly smooth over road imperfections

DifferentSinger4395 2026-02-20 12:12

How the fuck they keep using that crappy Korean supplier

fwilljr 2026-02-20 14:07

"the Juniper rattle"

fwilljr 2026-02-20 14:09

I hope you didn't tell your friend. If you did, you just screwed him up..... He will hear it forever now. 😆

MangoAtrocity 2026-02-20 14:16

Crazy. Haven’t noticed this one out 2026 Y AWD.

woody60707 2026-02-20 14:27

I those these were addressed?

Practice-Obvious 2026-02-21 02:42

Had my 26 since end of December, they replaced suspension components a couple weeks ago, and now I'm hearing it again. Unreal

Valuable-Ad7285 2026-02-21 10:09

The only squeak im getting are the breaks when I need them. 😜

Melbit_ 2026-02-21 18:30

So I shouldn’t retro the juniper suspension in my 2022 MYP????

ADVmanGSA 2026-02-22 03:03

What do u mean old warranty vs new warranty ?

gun16 2026-02-22 03:04

I’m based in Australia My car has 5 years 80,000kms. This year they are now offering 5 years unlimited kms

QuantumHQ 2026-02-22 04:56

Isnt this noise gets worse while driving in rear gear?
