Sick calipers.. Custom color?

limmyjam 2026-02-19 15:02

Nice!! Which car do you enjoy more? Which car would you recommend over the other overall? Can the model 3 performance be good daily driver with a newborn baby? I’m trying to decide between the two.

Fearless-Cattle-9698 2026-02-19 15:07

Honestly, I see it as “more of the same thing”

ethiopian_kid 2026-02-19 15:09

what are the two worlds exactly ? sedan and lifted sedan ? get a cybertruck and miata lol, those are two worlds

gym4c 2026-02-19 15:20

I love my M3P, but the new MYP is so tempting as a replacement…

TheRayATL 2026-02-19 15:21

Get the model Y. The 3 feels more cramped than the Y. The extra space will be handy

SgtDSOD 2026-02-19 15:24

More of the same thing, even so, like the saying says: You can never have too much of a good thing. This thing is begging for a tri-motor Plaid treatment, with the S and X out of the way.

WarningWonderful5264 2026-02-19 15:29

You can get caliper covers from online. They have tons of colors. Source- I have the same color covers on my car.

1Madarchod 2026-02-19 15:31

Thank u!

Donkey_Apple 2026-02-19 15:35

One for you, one for the wife? You’re my idol if it is 💙

holdencrypfield 2026-02-19 15:48

This is my issue with Tesla rn. There’s no option for a full size SUV when we all want it.

Spud2599 2026-02-19 15:55

Model Y for a couple reasons: 1) WAY more space for all the baby stuff...think stroller, diaper bags, misc baby stuff... 2) Your back will thank you because you won't have to bend so far over to put in/retrieve your kid out of the car seat.

chandleya 2026-02-19 15:57

A Miata with even an M3 Standard drivetrain would be unbelievable.

Leyvaman-MX 2026-02-19 16:10

Ha ha 😆…my wife and I have both owned Silver cars for decades (our favorite car color😬). Wasn’t available when we got our M3 & MX- wraps fixed that. Yours look great…enjoy🫡

thefuture131 2026-02-19 16:48

What are the rims on the model y?

mrtunavirg 2026-02-19 17:25

Whatever you do, don’t test one. It’s better not to know. The new seats, better ride quality, huge screen, quiet cabin, insane acceleration, fsd works well.

dfergsn 2026-02-19 17:28

I’ve got the yellow pads too… looks nice OP!

engwish 2026-02-19 17:57

Just to add, Model Y. I have both, and we got the Model Y when we had babies and the amount of things you can fit in that subcompact SUV is incredible. The 3 is definitely a lot smaller, great for when the kids get older and can sit in boosters because those rear facing car seats will be pushing up on your seats.

limmyjam 2026-02-19 18:01

Do you think the model 3 performance can work as a baby car though? I really like the appearance of the model 3 performance and the nimble driving performance! I currently have a RWD model 3

MurkyTrainer7953 2026-02-19 18:23

No, it would be north of 3500lbs, pls don’t.

Comfortable_Client80 2026-02-19 18:29

I’ll still take the 3 any day!!

engwish 2026-02-19 18:42

Since you have a model 3 already, I’d recommend putting in a car seat, stroller, pack & play, etc to see if it’ll work for you. I know people drive kids around in even smaller vehicles, but it’ll be cramped compared to the Y.

SnooHobbies9412 2026-02-19 18:42

How lucky you are. Enjoy both worlds!

Dense_Aioli_342 2026-02-19 18:48

I had both Model Y and 3 just for myself and thought WTF am I thinking. Sold my 3 to my mom haha.

PugMaster007 2026-02-19 19:01

Looks great..

KevinDohertyy 2026-02-19 19:52

the default ones they come with

IHateLowBattery 2026-02-19 20:18

Have you found any issues after having them installed? Was thinking of purchasing some from tesery.com but can’t commit to a color and also wasn’t sure on their fitting. I have a quicksilver M3.

WarningWonderful5264 2026-02-19 20:34

Nope. I bought mine from Temu. I think it was about $50 for all 4. I had to make sure it was for the 2025 model. They’ve been on about 4 months or so. It fits like a glove. I put them on when my tires got rotated since the wheels were off. I have stealth grey model 3

gym4c 2026-02-19 20:54

I have a 24 M3P and 24 MY. I love the sportiness of the M3P but the ride height of the MY. To combine that in one…

PM_ME_UR_DECOLLETAGE 2026-02-19 21:30

A Miata with an M3P to accompany it was great. That was my setup till I sold the M3P last year.

Juano_Guano 2026-02-19 22:34

I had more space in my model 3 trunk than the model y. The slope on the hatch cuts out a lot space.

Upper_Lavishness504 2026-02-19 22:36

Definitely not… I love my MY26 but I think best of both worlds would be like an M4 for me. lol

dragonovus 2026-02-20 00:51

How are the suspensions compared to each other?

CantFstopme 2026-02-20 01:50

For me, one of these would be a 4x4 but do you boo

MojoMercury 2026-02-20 03:20

What level of tint do you have?

Spud2599 2026-02-20 03:59

LOL! My buddy has a Model 3...guess who's car takes all the tailgating stuff including 3 tents, 2 full size coolers (including one of these [Robo Cooler](https://www.c3customcoolers.com/product-page/red-colored-rover) ), flag pole, 4 chairs...Hint: not him. Model 3 trunk may be deeper (although I'll fact check that), but the back seat shelf limits bigger items.

Juano_Guano 2026-02-20 05:17

I struggled putting four medium size suits cases and couple back packs in the trunk of the y taking my kids and parents to the airport. The three had no issues stacking two medium suitcases on top on each other. The y hatch slope made it challenging.

MurkyTomatillo192 2026-02-20 05:41

I got a 26 M3P and wife got a 26 MYPremium. Would never want to trade my M3P for a Y. They’re just very different cars, one is a go-kart the other is a family oriented car. The body roll on the Y is noticeable even on the freeway, whereas it’s nonexistent on the 3.

Suspicious-Argument2 2026-02-20 09:32

I have a model y and model 3P. Both with two car seats. It’s a bit tight in my 3P but we make it work.

NecessaryInternet603 2026-02-20 10:10

3 and Y

Bruceshadow 2026-02-20 14:04

better hurry if you wanna transfer FSD

mrtunavirg 2026-02-20 15:12

Agree they do different things. I test drove the new y performance and three performance back to back same day. Overall ride quality in the Y is better. Of course handling is better in the three but ride quality noticeably less comfortable.

limmyjam 2026-02-20 16:29

Thank you! Are you able to store all the baby equipment in the 3P? I’m going to do a storage test this weekend

Suspicious-Argument2 2026-02-20 16:41

I really only sometimes carry a stroller and diaper bag. I have had a fold up playpen in there as well a few times. No problems really. My youngest’s car seat almost touches my drivers seat and he can easily kick me if he wants. But it’s not that bad. The storage in the 3 trunk is quite large. I’ve done a weekend away with 3 of us a few times with no storage issues in my 3.

limmyjam 2026-02-20 17:42

Thank you! How’s loading your kids in and out of the car seats with how low a 3P is?

Suspicious-Argument2 2026-02-20 20:06

It’s not as easy as the Y, but doable. The annoying part is I have a seat cover that sometimes makes it difficult to find the buckle.
