I got the red multi coat for my model y, it’s no longer an option as triple red replaced it. It was a tie between blue or red, Went with red because I thought it looked great in the sun and was easy to spot in parking lots.

I planned to wrap it and darker colors are best so I got the free grey.
Wrap cost just under $1k for the exact color I wanted then about $80 in tools to apply it.

as someone who wanted to save a few bucks and thought stealth grey was okay. it was not okay. quicksilver is the much better option if u want that grayish look that isnt black. i regret my stealth black color. been wanting to vinyl wrap a different color but cant justify the cost of doing so just for a color swap. cant trade in either for a different color

go white. yeah most teslas on the road are white, but the juniper Y in white has really good contrast balance between the white body and black trims. looks so good.
i got stealth black/gray and i 100% regret not getting white or quick silver. dont go black unless you specifically want it.

I ordered stealth grey and compromised for blue to expedite delivery and I regret it. My wife likes it tho.

I have one on order - so can still change - but I went with the black. I liked the flecks of sparkle.
I checked out the silver but thought it was dull. Maybe in need to see in different light.
I normally like dark blue cars but don’t like Tesla’s shade of blue. It’s too light

My license plate is SKUNKZ. I do have a little stinker at home named Whiffy. So when I finally put the down payment later this year, it’ll be on a black one so I can stripe it up later. 🦨

Positivevibes2u

Stealth save the 1k and basic white. For me. I might be biased but white reminds me of economy cars, rental cars. The job i had way back had a fleet of white Nissan versas and versa notes. Never saw white as anything more than basic. Plus shows dirt real fast. Also had a white BMW loaner. Felt... basic. Maybe if the white option was pearl like the Lexus IS pearl white coat it would rival.
TL;DRits your decision, its your car be happy with your choice. ALSO Tesla let's you order a wrap later in the app with one of their vendors and color choice if you dont mind the cost.

I went Quicksilver (but wanted Ultra Red). Mostly because I had a white M3 and there are a lot of white M3s on the road. But after seeing it, I like the white MY. Stealth Grey looks good too.
Guess what I'm saying is: you can't go wrong.

I was originally sold on white, but before making my decision, one day I pulled up to the grocery store and literally saw 4 white MY parked side by side and it made me instantaneously change my mind. I am lucky to live close to a Tesla showroom and went in and saw the Quicksilver and was IMMEDIATELY sold on the color.

I ordered white as well. I'm not particularly a fan of white, but somehow it works best with the Y. The rear elevation of a Y is a bit off, the tail lights are too high with too much dead space underneath. White masks this condition better than the other colors.

Colors are free on the MYP so I went ultrared. I mean the grayscale colors are way too common in general, not just Teslas.

White - gets dirty fast.
Black and other dark colors - get hot if you park in the sun and the interior suffers. Dusty parking lots show too.
Grey - bland.
Red - supposedly picked by cops to pull over.
All that’s left is blue.

The worst color is always gray imo. Quicksilver is moderately less awful

2026-02-19 05:03
Quicksilver is the way. If kept clean, it’s a reflection of the environment around it. Looks great in any weather condition but especially overcast or at night. Looks great under bright light.
You don’t really get that with any other color except the new Diamond Black, which I would’ve ordered if that color was available on the 2024 when I purchased.

p3n9uins
2026-02-19 05:36
exactly. it's easily the highest-maintenance color. a little dust or a wet pothole and it looks dirty. also, panel and frunk/trunk gaps are extremely unforgiving with white

Just went thru this as well and you are right the grey looks black at night. White is super nice but it didn’t give me the contrast I wanted with the led light bar. I went with quicksilver but it does look grey in overcast and at sunset.

1) which one was free. 2) added benefit of the Stealth Grey is (in our opinion) that it doesn’t show the dirt as much between washings.

Same here, got the Diamond Black. I would've picked the blue but don't like the shade they use in the US.
My opinion with car paints; white is too commercial/fleet looking. The only other colors I considered were Silver and Red but chose black for the stealth look.

I really love the look of Quicksilver. I have the Y in the newer red color which I love and I’m not a red color person. My husband has a white 3 which does look dirty if it rains a lot and is not washed often enough. It does look sharp when clean.

I love white cars. My MYP and husbands M3P are white. Mine is called stormtrooper on the app lol. But right now in NJ, with all the snow, salt, and other filth on the roads, the back ends of our cars are FILTHYYYYYY! Over due for a wash 😅 No regrets with white though.

White is so hard to hide the paint color inside the cracks. Hardest color to wrap. But fortunately a white Tesla is a beautiful clean looking car.

It may just be me, but if I want any color Tesla offers, I'm just going to pay for the paint color instead of spending time on a DIY wrap.
