Im ready for FSD Unsupervised.

ReaditorRedditor | 2026-02-18 19:16 | 11 views

Im ready for FSD Unsupervised. Im ready for it to do drive thrus for me & allow me to fully use the infotainment system to watch shows etc isnt that what Unsupervised is about is that its on the onus of the car to take care of that for me? Who is really held liable when its Unsupervised? Is it really coming or is it gonna be geofenced to certain areas like cybercab?

Nobody knows the answers to these yet.

It will be a slow rollout in certain places or situations where the attention monitoring is more relaxed. I think we are a ways off from Tesla taking full liability.

Clean_Extension7234 2026-02-18 19:30

Are you ready for the insurance bill Tesla gives you for unsupervised? FSD paid in full now won’t cover that… unsupervised is level 4 autonomy. Supervised is level 2.

JustAcivilian24 2026-02-18 19:31

lol it won’t happen en masse for a while.

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-18 19:36

Alright where's the bill im ready?

iguessma 2026-02-18 19:37

We are probably 5 - 10 years away from unsupervised Id bet closer to 10

notabear87 2026-02-18 19:37

Within the next 5 years for sure. I look forward to the day I can activate FSD, lay my seat back and nap, then wake up at my destination.

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-18 19:39

Yeah hopefully they eventually do kinda take the liability and dont like cop out or something and put it on us lol

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-18 19:41

Hopefully sooner and with the same car like on hw4 so I dont have to go out and buy a new hw5 one or hw6

Clean_Extension7234 2026-02-18 19:45

Yeah ok… don’t forget here in Nevada and surely other states will quickly follow, autonomy vehicles even with safety backup operators like Waymo require special registration plates (civilian use likely blocked) and likely astronomical insurance coverage minimum because once the driver is no longer technically responsible the company is responsible for the lives and property it endangers. Tesla isn’t willingly taking responsible for anything but taking your money and not fulfilling its promise on FSD. It’s good at what it does but falls short at what it’s promised for 9 years and counting

Clean_Extension7234 2026-02-18 19:48

I bet by then the car will pull itself over and some dude or dudette in a far away country will get pinged and takes over from their bedroom remotely with a gaming set up from their bed. Who knows???

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-18 19:53

So are tesla owners suckers then for buying into something that will never happen?

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-18 19:55

Hell yeah let me get up and take over the tesla remotely.

Clean_Extension7234 2026-02-18 20:05

If they bought due to FOMO because the purchase option is supposedly never coming back… absolutely. If they paid for it when they don’t have the title in hand as in the car is the bank’s being funded and not theirs… absolutely great job upgrading a depreciating asset that isn’t even really theirs. If they bought without researching what FSD promises have been made since 2017 and not fulfilled not even closely, then yes. I’m an idiot who fell for it once but never again. I have two teslas a model y HW3 FSD pays in full, And model 3 lr awd paid in hw 2.5 with autopilot. I won’t ever pay to upgrade the hardware. Both cars are paid off and boo APR offer, no FSD transfer, no amount of promise will make me ever buy a new Tesla. If I want another Tesla with FSD paid included plenty of dealers have them and they’re far cheaper than new with HW 4 subscription only.

Clean_Extension7234 2026-02-18 20:06

Sorry my keyboard typing is horrendous

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-18 20:12

So are you upset about it? Do you think they dont have any backwards compatibility with making your cars work with FSD unsupervised if it ever happens?

Clean_Extension7234 2026-02-18 20:18

Unsupervised with consumer owned, not happening. More hype, smoke and mirrors. Just my opinion. Hardware upgrade? HW3 hasn’t seen a software update in over a year, being treated as legacy. Honestly just rider people keep falling for the hype even when they’ve been warned

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-18 20:20

You dont believe they are ever going to update HW3 again and they are going to treat it as most automakers do? No V14 lite?

Clean_Extension7234 2026-02-18 20:26

100% no. Delay Deny Dispose. When the v14 lite lie can’t happen because they already said HW3 is maxed out, after HW 4 is maxed I wouldn’t be surprised if they go well you had x many months of FSD so we’ll courtesy y amount of credit to your next tesla FSD subscription as a one time thank you.

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-18 21:44

So lets say hypothetically they did do it and add a new computer to your car like a recall type thing where they install the new hw4 in your car. Would this change your opinion?

SHale1963 2026-02-18 23:35

wrong forum.

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-18 23:43

Eh?

SHale1963 2026-02-19 23:34

really?

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-20 00:20

Say

SHale1963 2026-02-20 23:28

you aren't slow.

ReaditorRedditor 2026-02-20 23:43
