How screwed am I?

GaijinFoot | 2026-02-17 09:53 | 13 views

I noticed this just now. Not sure when or how. Cosmetially I can live with it, but the gap is worrying. Any idea on the best way of fixing it? In UK if that makes a difference.

Just boil some water and pore it over the damage. Then push the black trim back in place. Edit: Wear some gloves so u don’t burn urself.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. On closer inspection the nut has gone they connects the underfloor plastic to the bumper. So you know what nut this is?

You can find all that in the service manual (which is on Tesla's website). You can probably go to a service center and ask for the nut/bolt, they often just hand that to you for free.

Get it secured, youll either hit a curb, or if you live in a snowy area, snow will conpact and pull it right off.

I tried the hot water thing and it did help quite a bit. There's a clip missing but I ordered one off amazon. Should be coming today. The panel has a hairline crack but I'll live with it.

Good to know, they are cheap and you can do it easily. Hopefully you won't need the extra clips in a long time.
