Based on what Kyle from Out of Spec got out of the engineers at Tesla, they are the same cells. Just less of them. I believe it’s the same voltage, but less amperage/capacity.

here’s what I discovered. The LFP battery is not used for car sales in the US due to high Chinese tariffs. LFP-powered RWD cars are only in Canada for north america as the batteries are bought from china and installed in factories in the us and shipped to canada. the RWD models sold in the US are NMC, hence the higher range. The Dual motor, however, uses NMC batteries in Canada.

In US they use NCA batteries, not NMC (except CT).

So the recently announced Model Y (Std) AWD and RWD are expected to have NCA in the US. Did anyone get a delivery of the new MY Std AWD yet?
