Tesla’s

Brownflight1 | 2026-02-15 12:59 | 12 views

My 26 RWD Y’s front end rattles like a junk yard dog on the crappy roads where I live, I took it in so service could take a look. They confirmed my rattle. Service says it’s normal cause I don’t have the front motor. Took me for a ride in a new RWD vehicle and showed me it does the same. Said it was designed for the front motor and without it, the problem exists. I’ve owned Toy’s & Lexus for two decades, none of them have a hint of a rattle. I love the tech but abhor the ride. I will dump it after my lease expires. Anyone else hear of this??

Thats bullshit I got an awd and get the rattle as well

veloster6ix 2026-02-15 13:08

Where was the MY made in? I’ve driven in many refresh MY and haven’t experienced any LR AWD rattling whatsoever. Mind you all the MY I’ve driven were all made in Giga Berlin.

whadzinaname 2026-02-15 13:20

I had the same issue and they replaced both by front control arms and the issue is resolved. It’s a known issue and they have updated parts to resolve.

Verabiza891720 2026-02-15 13:29

The control arms were causing the rattle when the car was idling?

GlitteringResort9111 2026-02-15 13:37

It’s control arms. They replaced mine and 90% vanished. Service guy told me it happens on both rwd and awd

GlitteringResort9111 2026-02-15 13:39

I also used ChatGPT and it gave me a specific comment to include in the service message

Brownflight1 2026-02-15 13:39

It’s more like heavy clunking knocking sound. Control arms sound reasonable. How do I get my service center off the dime and fix it?

wotmp 2026-02-15 13:41

Where did anyone say it rattles when not moving?

Brownflight1 2026-02-15 13:42

I assume my MY was made in TX

silentbutdead1y 2026-02-15 13:43

Those service people are morons.

pdroth 2026-02-15 13:43

I brought my 26 AWD in less than a week after picking up for same exact issue. Two times back into shop, they replaced mounts. Much better but not quite gone yet. Glad I’m only leasing this thing.

Verabiza891720 2026-02-15 13:43

I'm asking a question.

whadzinaname 2026-02-15 13:52

Huh? It’s says right in the question

praguer56 2026-02-15 14:01

Tesla's quality control hasn't gotten any better and it makes me wonder how long before all of these constant complaints will finally sink in and the public turns their backs on Tesla.

FragrantSoftware1937 2026-02-15 14:24

Did they replace both control arms or the control arm mount isolator ?

whadzinaname 2026-02-15 14:40

These are the new parts they installed and the total cost for me was $0: MOUNT - FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARM - RIGHT HAND(2188396-10-A) MOUNT- FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARM - LEFT HAND(2188391-10-A)

SE_MI_CT 2026-02-15 14:40

>"Tesla's" Tesla's what? Tesla is what? Teslas?

FragrantSoftware1937 2026-02-15 14:46

I got the same parts replaced, and it significantly reduced the rattle. Tech said it's 90% done, and they will follow up with Tesla engeniers and hopefully the other 10% will be resolved soon

wotmp 2026-02-15 15:01

Me too.

Sorry, text to speech got that wrong. “When not moving” was what I meant to post.

GlitteringResort9111 2026-02-15 16:20

I’m experiencing a suspension concern. There is a noticeable clunk / knocking noise from the [front/rear] suspension when driving over low-speed bumps and uneven pavement. The noise is repeatable at speeds under 30 mph and seems more pronounced when turning or entering driveways. The vehicle also feels [loose / bouncy / unstable] over small road imperfections compared to typical ride quality expectations. Please inspect control arms, bushings, sway bar links, struts/shocks, and mounting hardware. I would like confirmation that components are within spec and not prematurely worn.

Brownflight1 2026-02-15 17:04

I would think that one of the YouTuber’s like Ryan Shaw or Gjeebs would dedicate some of their time to this issue. Ryan’s videos are very comprehensive, covering a wide range of Tesla issues. Maybe if more people realized that this is a major problem, Tesla would publish a recall and fix it. Noisy Control arms and bushings are not only annoying but a safety issue when they fail. Perhaps NHTSA, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration needs to take a look?

MhVRNewbie 2026-02-15 18:34

It's designed to rattle? 👍 😄

[deleted] 2026-02-15 18:52

Same thing with mine. Athough it is the AWD. Likewise cant wait to dump it.

Putrid-Cicada 2026-02-16 06:47

This is exactly how Tesla is.

Pec0ne 2026-02-16 13:52

This is complete BS. If all rwd tesla's rattle then there is a design flaw and this need to be addressed under warranty. I would not accept their bs response.

Brownflight1 2026-02-16 14:32

Agree! I appears that some Tesla Service Centers are more aware and therefore very responsive to fix the problem while others are reluctant. I’m sure that Tesla doesn’t want to admit that their best selling vehicle, the Y, has a problem.

cwiceman01 2026-02-17 00:57

Tesla literally told me my M3 rear subwoofer deck rattle is normal... smh
