If they don’t cancel and re order. 2 less percent is worth it. But try to get a hold of Tesla I bet they honor the new rate.

In my current car 3 years ago they honored it. And it was automatic, didn't have to do anything

I didn’t make the down payment yet. I had just applied for financing, which it seems I now need to reapply because I tried to change that in the app.

I literally picked up my MY Premium 2 days ago... lol. I'm pretty sure Tesla can let you apply a new loan still. I decided to add FSD on the day of my delivery, and Tesla delivery advisor was able to help me getting a new loan (same 2.99% APR) but with a different lender.

You can pay the $2k for the software unlock I believe. But honestly, get the MYP. Much better car.

I would buy a MYP if they offered them without staggered wheels… for many it costs $3000+ more because they immediately replace them with smaller, square setups

I have a 2022 MYP - when it was time for tires I replaced the wheels with square-set 19" Gemini (bought on Facebook Marketplace for $200, put Ubertine covers on them) running 275-45zr. Performance is about the same, I can rotate, and I sold the 21" Ubertines for $1,200. Ride quality improved dramatically. Super happy.

The HW4 models seem to be holding their value alright for EV standards but I’m sure that resale prices will tank once HW5 comes out.

Why has Tesla locked the wheel arrangement on the performance version of cars their whole existence? They read social media. They have to know people want the speed without the range/comfort hit

Just this morning and they responded within an hour. Via the text chain I have where they contacted me when I did planning for trade in, test drive, and the initial order. I am assuming you can also do it via the message chain in the app, but the texting have had great response times from the team that monitors those messages.

If OP has the sunk cost of FSD and doing a trade in and transfer purchase would be the right way to go. Each persons case is unique and I don’t think you can just have a blanket statement of lease.

Then you have to add 200 a month to get basic functionality that other cars have that was lost with ap removal. Bad deal

I am hoping they will change my rate, I ordered two weeks ago with delivery this Wednesday, will be transferring FSD from my 2019 model 3. I haven’t done any of the loan application yet.

It might not be worth it, need to do the math for every specific scenario. For example when I ordered, I ordered an inventory model Y with free paint upgrade which is worth $2000. Doing the math over a 72 month loan, I would actually lose money by canceling for a lower interest rate considering I would lose the $2000 incentive and also my $250 deposit. I am hoping for me they would just honor the new rate and still give me the free paint upgrade! Edit: I guess I have to show my math for you numb nuts out there since I’m getting downvoted. Let’s pretend Loan A is 40,000 at 2.99% vs Loan B is 42,000 at 0.99%. Total cost of Loan A is $43,099.20. Total cost of loan B is $43,065.20. Now factor in losing $250 deposit to reorder. Canceling for a lower interest rate costs more. Edit 2: I guess it’s all moot, Tesla is honoring the 0.99% rate and changed my order offer!

Legacy Model Y (HW4) with AWD and acceleration boost can be purchased directly from Tesla for $36-38k total. HW3 models are closer to $30k. Premium RWD Juniper with no paint options or addons starts around $52k after taxes and fees.

I purchased a a 2022 Y peak price it was just shy of $60k sold it last December for $23k and it only had 28k miles Purchased a cyber truck, owned it 9 months and lost 40k on it . Truck only had 2k miles i just recently got a Lucid Gravity and leased it. I'll never buy another EV. I really like them just don't want to own them outright anymore.

You will lose $250. If I were you, just delay the delivery and confirm with your advisor to make sure all rebates are applied

Resubmit the application, then call them. That will get you the new rate.

Did you get a free upgrade with the older promo? 2.99% > 0.99% over 72 months is only $3k. I picked up a prem last week at 2.99% but got the $2k 20" wheels free.

Well remember that I lose some incentives (like the free paint upgrade) if I were to cancel and re-order, so I would be taking out a higher loan. Doing the math, my total cost would actually be more if I were to cancel and lose the incentives for a lower interest rate. 40,552 at 2.99 is less total than 43,399 at 0.99. These are based off the numbers the website gave me anyways (and including my trade in). Hopefully this is all moot and they honor the better interest rate.

It’ll be crazy if you’re able to stack the free upgrade and the 0.99%.. I should’ve jumped on the free upgrade and got 2-3 week out delivery.

You’ll have to re submit your financing application. You might get re matched which could further delay your delivery

Ya mb I was basing it off 0% since I was on the fence between standard and premium. Ya 2% less is about the same as 1% since you’re getting 2k in free upgrades.

My loan is closer to 5.5% and if I do minimum payments for 72 months the total interest would be $3400. The used car was $37k, so still significantly cheaper than new.

How can you verify this? I bought mine at 2.99 a month ago and am wondering if I could get the .99 rate somehow. I haven’t even made my first payment yet

Tesla usually honor the best APR at the time when you receive your car. Buying FSD on 0.99% would be quite a steal.

Lol no, the 2023 Model Ys around $30k are all HW3. The HW4 models are all significantly more expensive. I spent around a month refreshing Tesla’s used inventory scanning prices before I found the one I wanted.

Many of the inventory cars are actually cars that are still being produced and haven't left the assembly line yet. Mine was one of them the other week.

They’re doing the same for me. First they reset my financing and reapply, but I still got 2.99. They opened a ticket with the finance team to fix it.

Was supposed to pick up delivery this weekend, but advisor actually let us know about to new promo and asked if we wanted to rerun the credit again for new rates on loan, we extended delivery to next weekend and didn’t have to cancel the order

all cars from tesla are like 5k ish more expensive I can send you several listings if you want, i’ve shopped this exact car aggressively but you have to go to other dealer lots like ford

Yeah you can get good deals outside of buying direct from Tesla. For me it’s worth buying from them for the extra warranty and effortless buying + trade in experience.

How did you raise it to them. Which number did you call?

What grants and rebates and what state? We got 7.5k in Sacramento, CA, as a DCAP grant, but a car can't cost more than 45k. Some counties and cities have such great incentives, unfortunately not our city.

We ordered last weekend, inventory car meeting specs was available. Financing hasn’t been started. Is this something we can get? Noticed in the order screen if you include taxes in estimate it goes back to 2.99% but then if you increase down payment it goes to 0.99 again.

Mine might be too, it was listed as having the dark headliner which I assume is newer off the line.

I bought my 2022 model y for 20k with 90k miles…. Runs perfect done road trips and never has left me stranded anywhere and still under warranty.

Can't you write off interest now on a car loan in the USA?

It will take a while due to the influx of inquires but they can fix it for you if you haven’t signed. Worst case scenario you can cancel and reorder.

You can re-negotiate your rate if you haven't accepted it. The dealership which you have the pick up scheduled at can reach out to the financing company and ask for an adjustment on your behalf. Not guaranteed to work, but I would try it.

That’s exactly what I did. I was waiting to purchase a MY premium RWD and was hoping they would give a free paint or drop the finance % and then I saw the .99 today. Just ordered one - I’m tired of waiting!

I believe all rates promo are subject to credit check. I would order new and see if you do qualify without cancelling. If they do give you 0.99% complete the new order first and cancel old order.

Test drove an AWD Premium. Wow the ride quality and noise insulation made my 22MYP feel like trash lol.

I agree that the Gemini wheels are hideous. However, I put Ubertine wheel covers on them - you literally cannot tell the difference. Unfortunately I cannot attach a picture, if you saw it I think you'd agree it's an acceptable solution. I have a side picture of one original wheel and one of the new wheels (with cover on it) - you're hard pressed to tell the difference, especially because I went 275 on all 4. The wheels/tires fill the wheel wells within about 1/4" of the original Ubertine wheels, it looks great.

When you lease a car you're paying the depreciation and are forced to hand it back right before it would've started forming positive equity if you owned it...how do people genuinely think leasing is a good idea unless they constantly need the latest and greatest?

Yes, call them and they will update in their system. I did last week and it shows now in Tesla app
