Wheel crack

Have a 2026 MY and noticed my tires were low so I inflated it. This happened 3 times this week so I decided to take it in to the shop. Upon inspection they noticed a wheel crack. I only have 8K miles on the car. This has to be mfg defect, right? They said no and proceeded to charge me over $900 for 1 wheel! 😡 Yeah, this sucks! Just venting…..

I would ask to see the wheel without a tire mounted and have them show where the impact damage was. If there is none visible you can atleast use that to your advantage and try to get some good will.

Tesla almost never calls a crack a manufacturer defect from what I’ve read. Tesla has historically make some pretty weak ass wheels for their cars.

100% agree. No reason why a car with less than 9K should have these issues.

I'm happy with my model 3 but they do indeed make "minimum to spec" glass, wheels, interior, etc... It's by far the most fragile car I've ever had to think about so much when it comes to that kind of stuff... Prolly because everything is so expensive to fix lol...

Have owned more than a few Tesla’s since 2014 and never had a wheel crack. Including 3 Performance 3s.

I’m sure I have….no way to avoid potholes when they are everywhere. I have a 20 y/o toyota riding down the same street, hitting the same pothole but no issues with the wheel. Just don’t think it’s a quality build.
