Steering wheel buttons not very responsive?

Does anyone else feel like they need to occasionally press steering wheel buttons twice, or kinda long press them? (Camera button, scroll wheel for FSD, etc) When I first got my car the right scroll wheel barely worked at all. I had to firmly press it in 10 times to (de)activate FSD. Service replaced my whole steering wheel. Now, the right scroll wheel is much better than it was, but now everything seems like it needs to be pressed harder / firmly / longer / sometimes twice to register. Is it just me (i need service) or are the buttons not very sensitive, needing firm actions? I’m curious if maybe the electronic module that the wheel plugs into has issues. 2026 Premium Juniper

I picked up my new Model Y two days ago, and I noticed the same except that the scroll button seems fine, the other buttons need a firmer press than I remembered on demo drives.

I've noticed I've needed to second push my buttons more than once. I thought it was me. Now I plan to more purposely push them and observe what happens.

Picked up new MYP and my Voice Command microphone button works about 20% of the time. Took it in for service. They fought me on it with “you have to press right in the center” and “make a concerted push.” It’s a button. It’s smaller than my thumb. There’s no way to press the button other than one way. Ridiculous. Will see how/if they fix it

Picked up from service yesterday. They proactively replaced the entire steering wheels and everything works now

FYI guys.. it's happening to my 2026 Model 3 too.. i'm not sure if it's worth bringing it in for service.

They fixed one button but now the rest don’t work well without a firm or long press

they didn't replace the steering wheel once again? so the same thing is happening to my newly replaced steering wheel and I wonder if it's a normal behavior bc this didn't happen to my original steering wheel

I’m starting to think it’s either normal, the new steering wheels are bad, or we have some bad module connected to it that isn’t sensitive enough

Yea i'm leaning towards to it being abnormal.. i'm sure it didnt happen to my original steering wheel.. so what's your plan? you're gonna keep trying to get it fixed or just live with it?

Edit: I should probably revisit the Owners Manual. I asked Grok and it appears from its reply that Tesla has introduced the concept of multiple use of the scroll buttons depending on the circumstances, e.g., if FSD is unexpectedly disengaged, FSD will display what happened and quick pressing the right scroll button allows me to record a 10 second note about the disengagement. Like I said I need to reread the Owners Manual specifically for steering wheel button presses.
