Juniper Suspension question

homevideo | 2026-02-12 18:57 | 20 views

How does the Juniper premium* AWD suspension compare to that of a 2017 Prius (my current car)? I test drove it, but was thrown a bit by getting accustomed to the regen breaking; feel like I couldn’t accurately gauge the overall ride. Anyone coming from that Prius? Or a 2025 Rav4 hybrid (the other car I’m considering buying)

We are unable to answer this question with the information you’ve provided. Juniper is not the model, the suspension is different on each of the Trims, so you would need to specify Standard, Premium or Performance. You can also search the sub for “Suspension” and probably find your answer. *OP has now edited the post to include the correct vehicle description

Thanks. I looked through the sub for info comparing to those cars and couldn't really find anything, figured it can't hurt to ask that specific question here

I came from a 2012 Prius. Took me about a week to get used to regen braking. Made both driver and passenger nauseous. The Tesla is regen is pretty strong. We have an Ioniq 9 as well and adjustable levels of regen which would've mades the transition a lot smoother. Nonetheless, we've gotten used to it and can drive smoothly with or without strong regen.

Nice. How’s the tesla ride vs the ioniq? (Specifically the suspension)

The Ioniq 9 is tuned for comfort and the Tesla Model Y is tuned for sport. So as a passenger, you're more comfortable in the Ioniq 9. As a driver, I prefer the stiffer Model Y.

You can set it to reduced in juniper

To Set the Regenerative Braking Level You can use the touchscreen to change the level of regenerative braking: Touch Controls > Dynamics > Deceleration Mode. Choose from two levels: Reduced: Limits regenerative braking. When you release the accelerator, Model Y takes longer to slow down and coasts farther than if set to "Standard". Standard: Provides the maximum amount of regenerative braking. When you release the accelerator, Model Y slows down, reducing the need to use the brakes.
