how come there are leaves in my Hepa filter ?

MacDaddy202 | 2026-02-12 06:16 | 11 views

I opened my frunk and opened my hepa filter to check whether I need to replace the Hepa filter. 22 MY that I have owned for one year. There were leaves all over the filters ? How do I keep leaves out of my hepa filter ? How are they even getting in ? Very disappointed that a filter that is supposed to filter the tiniest particles is allowing leaves into the filter element?!$&

Filter did its job. The filter kept those leaves from getting into your car.

leaves should not be getting anywhere near the hepa filter element.

The previous owner probably parked the car under a tree regularly. Leaves collect at the base of the windshield where the HVAC intake is.

HEPA Filter draws outside air.  It doesn't recirculate in bioweapon defense mode.  It draws from the vents at the top of your cowl and the vents above frunk.  You can buy mesh screens to cover those areas.

I know how filters work and I also know that a compost pile should not be growing in my hepa filter.

I can would you prefer that stuff in your hvac case?

I would prefer a screen or better design that keeps leaves and any other debris out of my entire hvac system.
