Sounds like engineering was already aware of the issue and came up with a redesign moving forward. Congratulations! Let us know how it works out.

Wow I’m going in for the same issue with my juniper next week. I hope they don’t do all this cause I don’t want to not have the car for too long unless they give me a nice loaner…

Justin if Tesla doesn’t give you a Loaner just request for an extended 3 day test vehicle and if it takes longer than that then let them know that you are out of a car and have them extend the test vehicle that’s what I would do

Guess it’s time to resubmit my 3 for service. Have the same issue and took it in during December saying the were waiting for a new part that would fix it.
Edit: let’s see what they say, I’ve got 4 issue that I’m sending in for so I’m hoping for good news. Love the car but this is a bit much for a 1 year old car.

Grinding steering column seems to be a common issue w juniper. It’s a known issue with Tesla. They replaced the entire unit for me and still occurs. They said new part is designed but not available to service centers yet.

I have a squeaky soiund when im really moving the wheel around, usually when parking - is this similar or is my noise expected? Its not loud but certainly audible.

They’ve had that issue for a while. I reported mine several times, they oiled the column and later they changed it to a new one and it’s back again. The service center said they had received reports so waiting on when they fix it. Ira annoying

I think I noticed this sound more recently too. I have a 2023 MYLR and I thought it might just be because it’s been so cold lately.
Kind of sounds like grinding or squeaking? But not terribly loud and usually only when I am going slower parking/backing up and turning the wheel.

Last time mine was in I got the same. 2025 Model X Plaid 7 row config. Sexiest car ever. Was a shame they didn’t want to trade with me. Loved that car

Same. I had my folks with me so I didn’t get to launch the car. Still loved it

They also offer uber credits with a cap of $100 a day when they don’t have loaners. I hated my model 3 loaner, couldn’t stand it when I was 9 months pregnant. I had to take my car back from service smh

They’re confusing two different concerns for the Juniper. Both have part revisions in the works that are not yet available. They just messaged you about the wrong one accidentally.

I had to get a new column all together. Whenever it would telescope it vibrated something fierce. They tried greasing it. Came back a day later. Then had to get a whole new column.

Hmm also have the same issue. But I notice it happens more when I park out in the sun. It reaches above 30°C here btw.

Update - Tesla support also plans on replacing the steering column at the same time, they had been pushing me until they had the new part number. These appear to be two separate issues, I’m not sure why they’re voluntarily replacing the suspension components unless it’s part of an open recall. I don’t have any front suspension noise, I’m hesitant to even let them do it unless there’s another reason

I had my steering column replaced last month. Hasn’t made noise since, but reading these comments it seems there is an even newer redesigned assembly.

Turn the setting from firm to easy steering (not sure on the wording). This should correct it.

Had this same problem twice with my Juniper model. They replaced the steering column both times. First time tesla ‘fixed” it, it lasted about 2 weeks before it started up again. 2nd time I brought it in, they kept the car for close to a week. It’s been working fine ever since. The staff at the Torrance location are awesome and genuinely care about the quality of work they provide.

If you haven't taken delivery on 2026 MYP; Is this going to be an issue on new cars that are in production? Mine says March/April delivery.
