I am here waiting for the answers, on questions that were never asked. But still though, the never answered questions, is still interesting and I would like to know the answers.
After 8 years you have to have premium connectivity essentially for a lot of the features of live traffic
At that point, best to sell the car and get one with carplay, shouldn’t have to pay $10 a month or more for basic gps navigation
I guess it just depends what you use. I stream tv and Spotify almost daily in my Tesla and really enjoy the live traffic. They are some of the features, to me, that makes a Tesla feel like a different experience as an owner. I just do the annual $100 subscription and call it a day.
That's not new, it's been that way for a few years. No one knows what will happen, you might have to pay per month at that point for standard connectivity, the technology may lapse and you car won't be able to connect anyways with the hardware it has, You may have to have your hardware upgraded for a fee if you still want it. Or you will just drive without it, which means you may not be able to do new trip navigation unless connected to wi-fi and you won't have most of the fancy app features (but yes the phone as a key would still continue to work). My 10 year old Infiniti QX80 only had a 2G modem and I had to pay for remote connectivity on it after the first year. (which is pretty common on a lot of manufacturers) Now I can't get connectivity on the Infiniti regardless of the monthly cost unless I pay a additional like $400 to upgrade the 2G modem it has to a 3G modem. and no guarantees on how long that modem will stay working...
People are genuinely down voting you lol. I support this thought. No point in having a "system" that I've to pay for just for it to work. People will say "just pay the price" or "connect the car to your phones hotspot". Fuck off with that logic. No one's demanding premium features. Just give basic functionality. Also, that $10 may not remain $10 8 years down the line.
Where can I find the invoice for premium connectivity in the app?
Same, originally tried it for the music, but convinced myself to keep it for traffic maps. If you're more prepared for gridlock, less likely to get in an accident. Boom, pays for itself in reduced risk.
"All Tesla vehicles come with access to Standard Connectivity. Standard Connectivity is included in your vehicle, at no additional cost, for eight years beginning on the first day your vehicle was delivered as new by Tesla or the first day it is put into service (for example, used as a demonstrator or service vehicle), whichever comes first. If you are purchasing a pre-owned vehicle, you will be notified of how long your vehicle will include access to Standard Connectivity. With Standard Connectivity, you have access to most connectivity features over Wi-Fi, in addition to basic maps and navigation and music streaming over Bluetooth®." https://www.tesla.com/support/connectivity
lol don’t look up what every other car manufacturer does…
I don't believe you can see them in the app. Only purchases on the Tesla store. Invoice for premium is located on Tesla.com. Go-to; Menu > Account > Click manage next to vehicle Your invoices will be listed at the bottom under Documents. File is titled "Premium Connectivity (month/year)"
So if our app doesn't say that, does that mean it's unlimited?
Yes. This went in affect in 2022, so if you bought before then, you're good.
