Bought a Demo. What to look out for at Pickup?

It’s my first car so I’d appreciate any tips on the main things to look out for! What can I ask them to repair, & what would make me reject it? Would curb rash or paint chips/ scratches be repaired for free or under warranty if pointed out? Or is it a take it or leave it situation. I’ve also heard conflicting reports on if your $250 deposit is transferrable your next order if you reject it? I got a $3300 discount & delivery is within the next few days. Thanks!

You’re buying a demo. There is a reason you got a $3,300 discount. It’s a take it or leave it situation.

I bought a 2023 MYP HW4 towards the end of the model year that was a demo. I went and test drove it and then decided to buy it. I negotiated with the salesperson to replace a curbed wheel. Got a $4,000 discount Plus the full $7,500 tax credit and all the seams and the fit and finish is great. Best car I've ever owned and it only had about 500 miles on it. They may have changed the policy at this point but that's why it's called negotiation. PS- this was at the Charlotte North Carolina dealership.

nice!! i’m assuming there was already a discount for it being a demo? how much additional were you able to negotiate off for the curbed wheel?

The $4,000 discount was because it was the end of the model year and a demo. When I went to test drive it I noticed the curbed wheel and ask the salesperson if I could have that fixed before I picked it up. They ended up just swapping out the wheel from one of the other demos that wasn't curbed.

Take pictures of everything and make them record it to be fixed at service app for a later date. Check all the tires and rims!! I got 4 brand new 21” rims, one brand new tire (was flat!) and they replaced front and rear bumpers after 6 months of me scratching them up. The Rocklin, CA dealership lost money on my purchase along with the $5,000 demo discount.
