Dog Mode problems

elbyamy | 2026-02-09 04:23 | 94 views

Anyone’s dogs open the door from the inside and set off the alarm?? they didn’t get out because they’re small but it seems like the doors should lock from the inside!! Is there something I’m missing? Photo of the culprits attached.

Did you hit dog mode or keep? I thought dog mode doesn’t allow you too open them from inside

That’s super weird. I have two GSD/Malinois mix and they have never triggered that kinda response from my 25 model 3! And they move around a bunch when I leave too. As a precaution I would set child lock in the back seats to on before you leave them in next time

😅😎🤙

Yes it was definitely on dog mode!

I had the child locks on in the back seat but they opened the front doors!!!!! Maybe need a dog lock mode 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hmmm interesting. Beyond my knowledge. Also, cute doggos and happy cake day!

Always_working_hardd 2026-02-09 05:31

Cheeky babies! Happy cake day!

Wise-Revolution-7161 2026-02-09 05:32

that would def be a safety hazard

Wise-Revolution-7161 2026-02-09 05:33

it would be very dangerous to ever have the interior doors fully lock (all 4)

Manual release always works.

This is the answer. If your dogs are loose in the car, or won’t stay in the back (assuming OPs are not just up front when driving), they should be tethered anyway.

Your dog on the left looks so much like ours. We got her from a rescue in PA and never figured out her actual breed…so cute!

Interesting 🤔

The goodest bois/gorls

Lexisodope 2026-02-09 15:13

Thank goodness my dog hasn’t tried that, but it’s also because we use the Tesla dog covers in the backseats.

You need to cover the front two lock buttons with a small block. I have two small dogs that do the same and could open the door & escape if they really wanted to.

PahLume1 2026-02-09 18:09

It locks out the windows not the doors.

Wise-Revolution-7161 2026-02-09 18:26

True but i still think it’s safer to have them openable from the regular release in case kids get hot etc

wtfredditacct 2026-02-09 18:45

I doubt those little guys pulled the manual release lol

wtfredditacct 2026-02-09 18:46

The door panel covers really solve the problem

KeithDavisRatio 2026-02-09 19:07

Oh no, is this stupid glitch back

K24Z3 2026-02-09 19:16

So OP should cover every door? Her dogs are up front.

wtfredditacct 2026-02-09 19:25

🤷‍♂️ I've got a hammock that keeps mine in the back seat

dawg_with_a_blog 2026-02-09 22:11

YES! I came out of Whole Foods and my dog had opened the front passenger side door.

Thank you!

You know what else spooks me, remote hatch commands aren’t blocked in dog mode… like the window vent somehow gets tripped all the time by my finger what if somehow something fucks up and the hatch goes. I want ALL remote commands locked the fuck out unless I’m beside the car.

Give us an OPTION for enhanced dog mode or something.
